Some niceness is what I got ...

I know that if I'm to purport to be even a part-time music blogger, I should have some killer links in the memory of Levon Helm today. And Danielle has come to my rescue with this -- a playable, downloadable, desirable bootleg of The Band live from The Palladium, September 18, 1976. Excellent.

And this is what I got, which is a bit trivial, but ...

I became aware this week of the Birmingham producer Jamie Travers, whose specialty seems to be surprisingly convincing reggae/dub remixes of hits from other genres. This take on Steve Wonder's 'Superstition' is pretty nice:

And, frankly, this remix of Oasis's 'Don't Look Back in Anger' just has no right to work as well it does. It's a novelty, but it strikes me that inviting around your avowedly-indie-guy friend, getting him high then dropping this would be most amusing.

Not from JT, but also in the shouldn't-work-but-by-golly-it-does category, Kylie Minogue's 'Slow' mashed up with the 'Sleng Teng' rhythm. It is very sexy.

Okay, it's a beautiful day and I am going to get on my bike and attend to some errands and meetings. I hope you, too, will find some niceness in your day. As ever, post what you got.
