Many thanks, gorgeous, and to follow on, this was one of my potted beauties. The gift that keeps on giving. :)

Now this is my best achievement so far. Our garden in Auckland, grown outside proves rather difficult. but did she perform or what?

I think this one might be related to that one. I took it (along with the one above) at my parents' place in Helensville.

Can't resist adding one of my fave scenes (no chillis involved but may bring tears).

Oh, snap, was about to post this! Made me bawl when I saw it. :-)

    Ow! ow! :-)

I used to have a family of very tall pitcher plants, which were so elegant it was easy to forget what went on inside! This is the stem of one of them. They were given to me by someone who bought them for their looks and then found them too creepy. :-)

ETA: carnivorous plants get way creepier, though: there’s one that lives underwater that captures its prey by emptying a water-filled reservoir inside its body which causes the prey to be sucked in. Slurp!!

Don't flowers suggest spring has sprung and a long hot summer is just around the corner. This plant has flowered on the deck in the last few days.
    The carnivores look fantastic.

I think I must have carnivorous pants...
but oddly, the fly is undone before the water bladder is emptied!
(especially after ingesting sweet infusions of malt and grain)
    ok, that is creepy...
