I was quite fascinated by the cirrus arch generated by the north-easterly wind. It sat there in the sky for ages.

Best transport choice on the day.

On reflection, it seems I've caught most of the singers in 'The Rapture'. It looks intentional, but I'm not entirely sure that it was. Just so you know.

  • Russell Brown,

I was predictably useless at taking photos, but I did get this video from the crowd at M83.

The kids at Toro Y Moi danced heaps, and waved their shoes in the air like they didn't care. This left the band's singer bemused -he said "What's with the shoes in the air? If forget my lyrics its your guys fault, with your shoe waving distracting me..."

Over the 'hedge'. What's all this then?

Yes, I received a subtle reminder from my editor (thank you). As you will notice, it is fixed. Trouble with doing things 'ASAP'. ;-)

ETA: Well it is now I noticed all the other times I used it... Bring on the singularity!

were a lot of fun, but I find it a bit jarring to see a performance by (essentially) an electronic act where they're pretending to play the songs live. Sure, the guitars, drums and keyboards were real enough, but the majority of the sound was clearly coming from the guy hiding in the corner with the rack of 5 (5!) Macbooks. I thought Kraftwerk got it right a couple of years ago - four guys with laptops right there on stage.

Definitely! Cheers Peter. Great to have a series of shots from another attendee.

  • peter mclennan,

James Butler - I saw those 5 laptops there earlier in the day, during Cults. Not sure if they were directly involved in M83's performance.

Ah. I thought I saw them being brought on, maybe they were just moving them. Anyway, my comment mostly still stands; perhaps Gonzales really was controlling everything from his little mixing desk on stage, but it really didn't look like it.

Does anyone have any idea what that was about? It was fun, but ... WTF?
