    Window from my doorstep -
Last sun struggling through the tail end of that sunshower

Further clearance, racing pigeons out for a spin.
Norfolk’s a feature, but it’s all about the framing?

    Dawn redwood approaching sunset -
    light touch on the landscape.

    Then a shadow, a screen,
a sign of darkness to come.

  • Chris Waugh,

Dammit! Trying to add more photos, but my connection has gone all dodgy, now repeatedly cutting my sentences short for me. Try again later.

Gah! That’s annoying! It’s not me hitting ‘stop’ or closing the tab early, it’s something in the pipeline or machinery between me and wherever the appropriate server is. Trying yet again…. ....failing yet again. Seven-ish more months and I'll be back in Aotearoa.</frustration with the side-effects of heavy internet c3ns0rsh1p>

    Setting sun

Working again! So, what I tried to post earlier.

And this would seem to be some rather early change going on.

So that's where clouds come from....

    Nicely observed, and lovely!
Trees here offering uplifting support for the clouds, as well as structural framing for the land.

Update, through the Norfolk window this morning –
that’s not a blue sky, but the underbelly of a huge cumulonimbus approaching/ passing by to the north.

Quarter-hour later, through a double window divided by the dawn redwood, as the sun was about to be blocked by the cloud massif.

Dawn plays on the dawn redwood
Please mister, can we have our ball back?

Er – I’ll just stand back and have a think about that.

    Nice moon shoots ChrisW.

This country lane reminded me of this song, speaking of space invaders.

I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane
Late at night when I'm driving
Take me on board their beautiful ship
Show me the world as I'd love to see it

At the end of the day,
signs of trouble brewing over the hills.

I'll just relax and appreciate the spectacle,

waiting for the detail to come ...

    Now, THAT’s a beehive!

Found these at Victoria Park – Central Aucklanders can join in by providing bee hotels.

There’s no escape from the weatherscape
Late afternoon Sunday of last week, 3 August 14, and I’ve been daily reading of the corresponding day 100 years ago as World War I is being triggered, when I notice the light outside –
the little views in the windows through the walnut tree are each illuminated in their own way.

Subtle colours shining off the weeping willow diagonally upstream

Not so subtle over the pine ridge downstream

Then another theme, of trees supporting the clouds, comes forth.
Here the walnut and many knotted strings of the dawn redwood seeming to hold the clouds
    suspended,
if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief –
    first in plain colours

    later, a little fancy

    and more so.
But I’m getting ahead of myself – meanwhile …

    On the riverbank –
what can I say, but something was triggered, like the sky exploded!
Managed to catch a few fragments.

The colours gathered together under the dawn redwood again –
colours of sound and fury? Or utter calm,

    reframed.

wow, you ARE getting the most magnificent weatherscapes!! (and you’ve caught them so beautifully)

colour-balm to restore jaded souls. (including those gold lit pics from the previous page)
