Ooh, some nice night pictures in there.....

Now if we could just get the cars off this stretch we could have a fine Over Park.

I seem to consistently forget to take pictures of the places I've been this summer, but Raglan's the one place where life moves slowly enough that I remember.

Good tangle Nora, wonderful tunnel Chris, that's close to home, drove trough it the other day to go look at the rodeo in Opotiki. :)

Hey! That's my old tree! Well, it's at the end of the road we lived in, and I spent many a day running round that little block of forest between the ages of 0 and 7. Happy memories. And that Waiotahi Beach road also. Making me homesick.

The inspiration for the lesser-known Joni Mitchell song, "Big Orange Lilo". (I blew that sucker up the old-fashioned way, too. I feel a bit light-headed now.)

There was a little fox terrier barking, barking like mad at the top of one of the falls in Omeru Scenic Reserve off Highway 16 today.

  • ChrisW, in reply to Cecelia,

Omeru - a new one on me. And it happens I'll be visiting Kaukapakapa in a week or so with my mother, but she being 92 I doubt we'll manage any bush tracks. Around the churchyard instead, to see the grave of my great-grandparents. But perhaps there's a shady spot for a picnic in that reserve, instead of a café for lunch?

Lovely waterfall, but I don't think I'd swim in that pool!

But then again, a rather similar waterfall on similar rocks, and I didn't feel the urge to swim in this pool either - upper Mokau Stream, Te Urewera National Park a few days ago.
