Wide one of the walnut tree and all from my doorstep early this morning, when the sun briefly peeped over the ridge before being swallowed by clouds. Neighbouring developer’s fence makes a silver screen onto which the early sun projects a side-on image of a segment of the tree, here available for any re-interpretations.

That's on a rewarewa tree, a remarkable raceme of flowers in the making. Well worth following through to opening and beyond if you've found a handy one. Here's a sampler from my tree in early November.

Thanks for naming that tree! Some of the flower are open, couldn't get a clear picture with direct sun and dust in lens, but here's the tree itself.

As for the walnut shadows..... they look very 50's cartoon!

Oh by the way.... even though a bit blurry, I think that is a pukeko chick to the right of Mrs Pukeko.

Why that'd be a pukeko echo wouldn't it?
Any small lizards nearby as well?
