  • Geoff Lealand,

Thanks, Jos. Did my little bit for Christchurch today at the local Home & Garden Show, by purchasing a chair made by Rekindle. It is lovely and will be an excellent birthday present for A Certain Person.

More wisteria, in our front garden, from today

You must be providing an ideal environment for your lush wisteria. This one peeking over a wall is a little more reluctant...

Ventured to the bay of plentiful for a few days.

Was nice to catch up with the chap on the other side of the camera.

And one of the other local residents.

    Nice, frond : )

You really don’t have to go that far to see the gulls, or the catchers either….

    Captured a murder.

And some closer upper wildlife (good spotting from the wee one). [dammit, remember to add the photo]

And more good spotting - this girl's got sharper eyes than either of her parents.

She's also got a spring in her step.

I've posted a North American-style totem pole captured in north China before, though I can't remember where. Here's four properly Chinese totem poles.

And the last few days felt like being in a traditional Chinese painting ('cept when we got back down to Beijing, all I could smell was vehicle exhaust).

    Misty mountains.

And people trying to trap fish. They used bread as bait, and given how many people there were around, I'd be surprised if any fish ventured into waters that shallow - he certainly didn't throw it far.

I should get a new hobby, but these birds just keep flying into the tree out front. I gotta shoot them.

Why do birds suddenly appear?……. you are certainly getting closer there : )

My birds are faraway. I aim for most pathetic bird photographer of the year award. (No competition, i feel it is a one woman class!)

I think it’s BOTY time again too.

Most proud of the really blurry shag-shot.
Quite like the humble pigeon having a feast on some weedy flower.

love the kraken duck attack, bubble heads, looming figure and tile vision…

here’s some stuff I’ve seen recently:
a fence waiting for Jesus to form…
    (in Chchch)
    an exterminated Dalek skeleton…
    (in Napier last week)
    a gunny bunny…
    (in a Napier boutique)

Oh nice stuff! Or nice stuffed?

I also found some brick warping and some lonely city seats, swept up Dalek skeletons.
