Oh, arohanui Sofie. Was this recent, or did I miss something previously? Anyway, wishing you all the best.

I think you were away. She finally succumbed to the cancer on her leg but she lasted 8 more months than expected and she made it back North to the Street she was born in and had 4 months racing around enjoying life as she could. 16 years of a good life . She had 5 dogs show up to her funeral with as many adults. She touched peoples lives quickly up here. I'm glad she came home . The Vet said you don't often see a dog get back to the same street and only 700 metres from where she was born. So she lies on the hill up back facing the sunsets forever. This is her possy.

Well, it’s beautiful. We moved recently, and the card you gave me many years ago with Stella's photo on (IIRC?) was still above the coffee machine in the old garage. Now I’m trying to remember where it ended up. I’ll probably find it in 5 years time, when we finally get all the boxes unpacked. :-)

:) I have 2 boxes left. Been here 9 months now. I'm doing well, what with being the Builders Labourer . We are so close to finished, cant wait to rest these ol' bones. I may even get out to look at the scenery and take some photos.

Someone I know retired from the university last week, and had chosen the date as they wanted to leave as the magnolias bloomed i the quad- measured to perfection, as they blossomed at the start of the final week.

    Steel melancholia…

    That's a fine sign!

Something I liked about this sign.... maybe the tiny cyclist? Maybe his jaunty cap?

  • Soon Lee,

Checking in to say how lovely Jackson's images are, then got distracted by the bursts of colour in the comments. Thanks for the lovely contributions.

Thanks Soon Lee. Appreciate your comments. It's still spring. Any flowers in your neighbourhood to go steal? :-)

Not too much colour around the neighbourhood yet; I've been mostly taking pictures of food, streetscenes & sculptures of late, like this: "The Gold of the Kowhai" by Paul Dibble when in Napier last month.

(Though if the weather is good, I might take the camera for a walk this weekend & see how I go)
