That's just like my pond! I've got white, yellow and pink waterlilies peeping out from a clutter of leaves. Haven't seen my frog lately but next week I'm going to get some more tadpoles for another go at growing them.

  • Gareth,

SWMBO had me do these a few weeks ago.

You can have a life, or you can have a big garden.

    We've got the garden.

Who needs a life when you have that garden! I love Waipara Valley, especially down that riverbed.

That picture has a wonderful soft quality.

I regret not buying the dandelion head-in-a-paperweight that was a the Christchurch airport Ballantynes shop for years and years ( maybe a decade). I nearly bought it so many times, then one day I decided that today would be the day. When I got there, paperweight was gone; “old stock” they thought. Which all just goes to show…

  • Gareth,

Limestone Hills is where the Waipara River runs into the White Gorge. We're on a cliff above the river, which is our boundary. I like to say we look down on the rest of Waipara. It is a very special part of the world.

    Jackie,

I take it you have been to Port Chalmers recently? I went there myself in February or March when back last and thought the sculpture park (right term?) at the top of the hill was pretty neat. Great view over the harbour and peninsular too

It's a lovely spot. Ralph Hotere used to have his studio there before the hill was partly removed to allow for Port expansion.
