    Wow indeed.
Years ago I borrowed a library book by a North American bird photographer of some renown, who mentioned that sparrows, despite being common, were among the toughest to photograph, simply because they turn shy the moment they sense they're being watched, His book featured a shot similar to your first one that he was pretty happy to have got, but nothing like that amazing second pic.

  • Jos,

Thanks Joe, yes they were certainly shy. I got some video as well, I'll post it when I've edited it.

Snap #3 of the St Mary's Bay cottage by the time Dad was finished with it. Artist's impression, pen and wash. Which is now washed out, leaving the curious highlighting effect that appears to have excellent long life, the twink she used to tidy up edges. Cheaty cheaty.

The shopping trolley obviously moved by the beauty of the view. ;-)

Heh, when I first saw that photo I thought it was some fancy piece of jewellery. There's something jade- or pounamu-like to the pattern of the colouring of the green ring. A photo that makes you focus and refocus questioning what you're seeing is always a good photo.

  • Ben Austin,

Interesting to see the photo of the Coronation Hall, or the Orange Coronation Hall. I went to Belfast last weekend and did the obligatory "political" tour. The taxi driver was vaguely interested to here that the Order had a NZ presence for a while.
