Just checking up on what's happening here. Gees it's a mood enhancer! Here's a few pics from the weekend. This is the Christchurch Danceomat - a dance crew all in blue was dancing to a blue playlist - Blue Monday, Blue velvet - & my gal joined in.

And this is the rather astonishing sunset as we drove from Hanmer Springs to Christchurch on Sunday night. Canterbury was looking well beautiful.

And on Monday morning I spotted this on my way to work - those sturdy little MED buildings seemed to have stood up well after the quakes. This lone 8 bit bandit is on Lichfield Street.

So that's free range chicken, which is also free?

    Leaf in gate

+1 on the punamu horseshoe -- until I read Chris Waugh's comment I had looked, admired and thought no more. It's stunning Nora.

That's awesome Kebabette. That cloud looks like a spaceship uncloaking after exciting from speed of light travel.*

*Am reading Iain M. Banks - by way of explanation. ;-)

Cool - I like the idea of it as a spaceship. It was a great cloud to imagine things of - though my interpretations were lowbrow ...

Yes .I had never encountered many chickens up the tree. They hang out in it all the time and nest around it and yes if you eat meat, free chicken and there is many free range eggs. I only need go 700 metres to get as many as I like. They also pop into the hen house and deliver more eggs there for those humans that cant be bothered looking but the pic of hen I posted earlier was only outside a friends back door.
    ahhh, te countryside, :)
Hine is from the same property as the chickens

Not a peony, one of the wonderful David Austin roses - bred to look like old roses, chock full of petals and not only that, but the most wonderful scents too : )

It is indeed. I probably liked that better than Hydrogen Sonata, which I'm reading now. Although I just got to the 'good bit'. It's mind warpingly intense.

Lovely. This reminds me to take a trip to the Botanic Gardens' rose area and go rose-madder.

Hmm, I think I know why that upload didn't work... Have to wait for Lightroom to output the file, and on my ageing MacBook Pro, that can be a long process.
