  • Hebe, in reply to Nora Leggs,

Hopefully not peach tree branches : )

Hope not! Tiger has spent hours leaping and pirouetting in the snow today, trying to catch falling snowflakes and making holes in the drifts. Leo has been unsure about the white stuff and seemed to decide bed was a better option. The dog loves it, bounds and hurtles and skids then comes inside for a bone in the laundry alternating with the Adoration of the Woodburner.

Some respite from a wintry day...
a young Blair Parkes in an old All Fall Down clip ( Black Gratten ) with some glimpses of Chchch of yore...

Word on the street is that one of All Fall Down's only EP Wallpaper Coat (on Flying Nun) sold on Trade Me recently for nigh on $300!!

and The Shallows Suzanne Said single featuring Roy, Mary & Mick and Suzanne Irvine (RIP) plus a young Paul Johns too - and fragments of a sunnier more built up Chchch...

A winter wonderland. I'm getting that existential angst sensation where, although your photos are already on our blog, I want moar! Great collection between you, Lilith and Hebe. And of course Ian's recliner.

    Anyway, keep 'em coming.

    I want moar

Ok; some curiosities I saw today: number one: this hat (and its occupant) has been around our house forever. It sees off snow, sun, duststorms and doodlers with biros (on the other side someone has grafitti'ed a skull and crossbones).

Curiousness number two: Although it is two weeks off midwinter, the leaves have shed long and slow this year, so some trees still have lots of golden leaves even as it snows. This oak on the roadside is one. That seems unusual to me. I was out under the huge oak in the backyard today watching the leaves glow gold while snow covered it (but no camera) and the blizzard swirled.

  • Hebe,

And a quake crossover: the gap in the bridge railing is about 10cm. It pulled apart in the February 2011 earthquake and stays like that (also on the other side of the road). Every time I walk over the bridge I want to click it back together. The poster and the snow together are kind of sad.

I agree it seems incongruous that those leaves have not moved by now. Like a mad uncle staying a lot longer than he should .
