  • Hebe, in reply to Rob Stowell,

a web of art and art-filled lives holding the city together.

Fine way of putting it Rob: that s the sense I get from the show. Opening tonight at 5.30 to 8.30pm at the Linwood Community Arts Centre on Stanmore Road, if you can make it at such short notice.

Aaron, your Freudian slip is showing
I see Councillor Kleown, while having an actual checklist on his poster (albeit with some spurious claims), omits to spell check his own expensive coreflute campaign signs.
I'd have thought he'd have learned after his illiterate ACT campaign billboards some years back...
Who would risk electing someone who doesn't check the detail, especially on the more costly jobs...
and don't even start me on their pie-in-the-sky slogan!

Unless of course he meant impute, for some reason?

Good point Ian. Mind you both are pretty much just in office for the sake of it. Looking forward when people with good intentions and ability start running the show. There are a few already in place but have not had a chance as the were working with bullies calling the shots. Upwards and onwards.

  • Joe Wylie,

This book looks about right for Councillor Keown. Fortunately it's about as real as his chances of a second term, though in a town that on a bad day can seem like a badly sheltered workshop you never know.

I can't for the life of me bring www.city1st.co.nz up to check out what they're standing for, or is that the point?

Same. I think the website will be a mirror: they will stand for whatever you want them to stand for. They have both been told what to think for the last few years and I don't believe either know what they stand for.

me neither, does the facebook page exist?
He could be breaking Electoral rules by having incorrect information on his advertising...

    There's this.
Button's own page is pretty much a token effort that hasn't been updated in 3 years.
As for the other one, I blocked him some time ago after receiving a FB friend request.
One must have standards & all.

Anyone know of Daniel Wright? He seems to aim to do some good work after his own personal crisis (whatever that was).
Seems to have all the trappings of an evangelical, but no mention of God or requests for cash. There was the campaign for the council to focus on core services, after the Ellerslie Flower show that has a lot of support, but then again there are the CCC Geese laying golden eggs too.

No. Is he standing this year? No clear statement of intent; which is sometimes due to inability to put it into words, though with the professionalism of the circletrust.co.nz website I would have thought he could hire some help if he wanted to be clear. I put him in the “need more info” file.
