  • Geoff Lealand,

I’d love a Public Address coffee mug!

And a Tshirt…and a seat at the RWC final

  • Peter Calder,

Money well spent. An annual request like this would not go amiss, Russell. Reminds me that it's time I sent $$ to the Auckland Radio Trust which rebroadcasts BBC World Service in NZ ...

Done, and it's a great idea to have this as an annual thing!

  • Kumara Republic,

Happy to put in my bit. Although pure donations can be a rather mundane task for some people out there. Why not spice things up with, say, film screening fundraisers or suchlike? Or having a tip jar at future Great Blends?

And like many others, I'm increasingly frustrated with cartelised mass media not telling us the whole story. Al Gore took on the media establishment with CurrenTV, and the Grauniad seems to offer a model to follow. Then again, those outlets have a decent economy of scale to work from, and may not quite apply here.

  • Chris Bell,

Public Address gets a name-check in my short story 'Iniquity' (Kindle Edition: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VN34R8), so apart from everything else I owe you some of my royalties. Next time I get a cheque from Amazon, I’ll PayPal you my contribution.

  • Matthew Poole,

Apparently I managed to get Public Address name-dropped into the latest Metro (I've still not seen it, just been told about it), with the second line of this post, so I'm also doing my bit to raise our public profile ;)

  • Sacha, in reply to Russell Brown,

And I'm very interested in flattr. It could even be used for readers to give a little to other readers who write particularly useful and spiffing comments -- I quite like that idea.

    +1

Was impressed by the potential of flattr when a certain financial software whiz at my first Foo told me about it.

I reckon just charge a modest price for all such events. It is an easy tangible exchange of value and a variety of ticketing infrastructure exists (including volunteers on the door). I know we've heard in the past that merchandising doesn't stack up at low volumes.

You do great work Russell and I'll do my best to support it with whatever I have to offer.

Koha, whip around, annual subscription, throwing in a wad of cash - I like how we're thinking. Thank-you Russell, and all other contributors.

I think all PA readers are avid coffee snobs and would like a collectable mug each year.

Since when did avid coffee snobs drink out of a mug? PA-branded espresso cups, please!

I think you coffee people better just cut it out. Some of us don’t touch the stuff. Or tea. And would rather have a nice glass for sipping elderberry cordials from, if it’s all the same to you.

I have a collection of coffee mugs -mainly given to me by much loved & esteemed whanau. They're what I drink my 2 breakfast coffees from - because I wake upnthrive on a delicious, crema rich, somewhat primitive jug-brew...
BUT! for my exceptional occaisional other coffees - my tiny espresso cups do the deed...so, I'd buy both-

    B'aha! Whiplash post!

Ben just suggested that he doesn't wish to have anything etched onto his whisky glass, but he'd be totally into PA-brand coasters. I could get behind that.

Would lend a whole special meaning to seeing someone through the bottom of a glass.

    Oooh- dunno.
There is a very large hoard of ANZ whiskies stowed away in Oamaru, maturing quietly in one of the heritage precinct buildings...something from there, pehea?
