  • giovanni tiso,

Yeah, neither did I must say. The dance also seemed fully choreographed, which was... creepy.

  • Peter Ashby,

    @Craig Young

I can attest from the Antipodes that Being Human is very good. I caught it early on despite thinking from the trailers that it looked weak but they take the concept and run well with it. It is a sort of Buffy/Angel crossed with Coupling as in how if you are a werewolf do you deal with having scratched and thus infected your naive human girlfriend (small and blonde, and a nurse). Also the problems of trying to have a human boyfriend if you are a ghost and thus insubstantial.

A nice dark side and some creepily good baddies as only the British can do them (why American directors hire Brit actors to play bad guys).

  • Ian Dalziel,

at the risk of starting another of "those" minefield-threads... NZ On Air currently has an on-line questionnaire for all those folk who want their voice heard by the powers that be...
go forth and be constructive :- )

  • Ross Mason,

Ummm.. Have I missed a whole blog somewhere on the Tibet, China, Norman thing this week?

But just in case I haven't. The vision that kept popping into my head as it unfolded was the Ian Fraser Interview with the Shah of Iran years ago when the bastard came out on an "Offical Royal Tour". Fraser had the audacity to ask him about the human rights issues in his country. Imprisonments, murders etc. AND on taxpayer's TV!

Fraser got keel hauled by all and sundry. MPs, Prime Ministers, concerned mother of fours.

We do seem to miss the point. But it is interesting that it is the media who were ACTUALLY there who have supported Norman's view - at least in spirit - that he didn't start it. Further, the MPs, NATs & ACT have conveniently overlooked the more important issue of foreign security running roughshod over a flag carrier in Parliament(!!!). Thats the bit that is truly concerning.

I hate to say it but where was our security? Was one NZ MP "nothing to worry about".

Russell, any chance of wheeling and dealing to get that interview available on the (any?) TV archive???

  • Craig Young,

Ooooh, dear. It looks like the
    de-Rudd-erisation of the ALP
    was just what they needed.
Australia's first ginga PM has now
hit the lead insofar as the Bad Abbott
on the other side and the LibNats are
    concerned.

I feel a Limp Bizkit soundtrack coming on...

Um, so Gillard's honeymoon has lasted a whole thirty six hours? Fancy. Sorry to be the prick in your bubble, but I believe there's got to be a tiresome thing called an election campaign where Gillard's going to have to do a bit more than crack self-deprecating ginga gags. Definitely a more even playing field (and more interesting campaign), but I think there's more than a little magical thinking from various commentators who think it's hardly worth bothering with the election.

  • Simon Grigg,

    has been digitally re-released

Cheers for that Russell. In the same batch we've also reissued for the first time since 1994, the Mark Tierney produced Freebass album: Raw- Live At Cause Celebre, which is notable, apart from the fact it was really very good live contemporary jazz from a bunch of astounding young musicians, as the first released recording from the Haines Brothers, Joel and Nathan.
