    Heh!
Really really must learn to insert interesting pikkies I have...golden web (sometimes, golden orb webs) spiders make huge and resistant and extremely strong silk- one of my mates, who has spent quite a lot of time in Papua NG, walked into one - and literally struggled to get out. He said, "It was the birds struggling also, and the spider up in a tree crook, looking at us. With interest."

  • Yamis,

Something a bit louder and 'energetic' for your Friday. Maybe after a few beverages. At the Drive In Live in one of the Aussie Big Day Out's in 1991. Check out the footwork. Rene Ranger and the Rok would be happy with it.

  • Tony Parker,

Ah vinyl. Came back from the US and Canada last month with an armful of new and used vinyl and cd's. Went to Ameoba in SF. Just mindblowing the size and selection. The sort of place you need to go into with a plan. Good prices too. Nothing over $20 with some good finds for just $2-5. Snagged King of Limbs on vinyl for $12. My vinyl obsession just keeps growing.
Here's something if you like blonde scandanavian pedal steel players, a member of Calexico and Mark Lanegan.

  • dyan campbell, in reply to Matt Crawford,

New vinyl release for me this week is David Kilgour’s Left by Soft. Deconstructed CD cover glued into place; hand numbered and signed. He still sounds like the young bloke who did Here Come the Cars.

"Left by Soft" is wonderful. I love the song with the Sam Hunt lyrics - "A Break in the Weather".

I haven't seen the artwork for the vinyl, but the shot of a gymnast (from the 40s or 50s by the look of her bathing suit) in mid-flip on the beach inside the CD is pretty cool... something that manages to combine David Kilgour's music, a sunny beach and impromptu gymnastics is pretty much my idea of the perfect happiness.

Everyone be sure to duck to avoid the lowflying fundies on May 21!

I received an invitation on Facebook to go looting their houses!

As did I. But I instead made a counter-offer whereby people knowing they will be taken in their rapture pay me $100 upfront and I will take care of their pets for the rest of their lives. They can't leave their pets behind alone uncared for on what will be a living hell. Still haven't had anyone take me up on it yet though:(

I can almost see a 2am PAS chorus of “I wanna know what love is”. Almost

Followed by copious amounts of Bon Jovi! #amsecretlypleasedIcantrecallasinglesongtitle

  • Ethan Tucker,

Returning to a previous Friday theme -- how many remixes of Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' can there be?

Not a remix, but a commendable cover - here's the kidlings of the PS22 Chorus being talented 'n shiny:

    Bon Jovi

Funnily enough, I was going to go there next, but got distracted by ducks and Karaoke, in that order.
But since you mention it, on 4, everybody ready?

  • Jackie Clark,

Before I retire for the evening, since we're all going to cark it tomorrow, anyway, here's one of my very favourite songs from back in the day. Fond memories of strolling around Victoria St Market when it wasn't a tourist trap.

  • Yamis, in reply to Jackie Clark,

So many kids at school asked me if we were going to die this weekend.

I replied that yes we were and they may as well give me all their money since they won't be needing it anymore.

In the cold light of day, having tried to sleep through the damn thing reverberating around my skull, I would say ritualistic Seppuku is not out of the question, which would save you the bother.

Jackie, this is my fav Elbow song, followed closely by Powder Blue.
