  • LegBreak,

Well, when the trial begins then surely that's another 10 pages worth?

Wil Holmes be called as some kind of character ref?

  • Sacha,

They might subpoena Holmes as the writer of most of the mawkish garbage that has substituted for taking responsibility.

  • robbery,

an unnamed source told me it was 1001 at the top of this page. I just counted a few pages at random, They've all got 20 posts per page.
Not that I'm obsessive compulsive or anything....

  • Sacha,

Accoording to the counter on the main page - http://www.publicaddress.net/system/ - this post should make about 993. Don't despair, almost there.

  • LegBreak,

    Compulsive or otherwise..

    Is that a record?

You know, the issue that has most touched the PA nerve?

  • Sacha,

Also a sign of increasing readership, and enough people committing the effort needed to keep a conversation going.

  • Shep Cheyenne,

I'm sorry to say Sofie, but I'm using a pseudonym, my pronstar name to be exact. Shep was my dog & Cheyenne the Street I grew up in.

I was pretty impressed by Hewitts tearful epiphany in Queenstown, but wrong of me to expect all public figures to prostrate themselves in a media conference & mean it.

I hope all is well with you Sofie, a friend of mine missed the steriod shots after her treatment, she used to be on a good busy buzz.

I could help but think the Media Report this morning on Veitch hinted as to his 'need' for excessive cash (mental hop, skip & jump) was it for P?

  • LegBreak,

    Shep, yes

Allegedly, that one's been going round for a while.

But if you're that short, and talk that fast I guess it's inevitable.

  • Yamis,

While we're on porn names mines Maggie Flanshaw. I guess I'm a cross dresser when in action.

Please ignore what I just wrote.

    Please.

Shep, Veitch is mortgaged up pretty hard going by an article in the DomPost the other day. $20,000 a month to make payments. He earnt 700,000 a year, minus tax and he would still have had plenty left over for trips to Fiji but could certainly not afford to lose all his jobs at once I would have thought.

This has wound up costing him a lot more than 150,000.

  • Sacha,

Shep, thanks for the pointer. That Mediawatch story is good (podcast, 9.7Mb): http://podcast.radionz.co.nz/mwatch/mwatch-20080720-0905-Mediawatch-048.mp3

  • Yamis,

Steve and Steven, that was like pushing somebody out of the way to take the match winning catch and then fumbling it before hanging on.

    Still, a wins a win.

and enough people committing the effort needed to keep a conversation going.

I was thinking bored people with nothing better to do than talk about the crimes of famous people but i like the sound of yours better.

You know, the issue that has most touched the PA nerve

hmm, I recall a chunk of this being about estrogen fueled marriage, not exactly on topic,

me, I like the number 1000, I secretly wanted that honor but I bow to sofie's greater stay power

  • Sofie Bribiesca,

excessive cash (mental hop, skip & jump) was it for P?

That is where my head space was going quite some time back. A bit of experience goes a long way if it is over many years. Growing up here makes me often consider drugs in the equation.P is a drug that has a common thread in the media. It really does reveal a hideous psychosis.I'm pretty tolerant of out of it types but after watching P in action, It is not something I can do.You only need 2 things to set a P freak off. That's paranoia and paranoia.
    Guess I 'm late huh?

  • Julie Fairey,

I heard the tail end of a woman from Preventing Violence in the Home on the radio the other day talking about domestic violence and she reckoned that it was quite rare for someone to just out of the blue commit serious violence of this nature, usually there was some escalation and other lower level violence first (possibly with other people, in different contexts, whatever). Didn't hear the whole thing though.

Things like that radio interview and this thread did prompt me to help poor Mr Holmes out with his interviews, by suggesting a few questions he possibly, you know maybe, if he felt like it, could have asked Veitch.

  • Sacha,

Thanks, Julie. I like the way your commenter Anna McM put it:

If Veitch is trying to reform himself, being surrounded by apologist turds like Holmes won't be helping much.

I think those who want some "balance" need to reflect that Tony is not doing himself any favours long term either. He does deserve at least the possibility of redemption, after he has owned up like a real man would.

  • Yamis,

He had a minor physcical altercation with Willie Lose at a radio sport christmas party. I forget if it was 2007 or 2006.

Leg Break will know, he can consult his scrapebook.

I think it was along the lines of them winding each other up and Veitch throwing one and running. Again somebody else can correct that but that was roughly how it was relayed at the time and how it appeared in the media the other day.

  • Sacha,

Yamis, I love the idea of a "scrapebook" for recording them altercations. However, I'm imagining Lose ain't no chihuahua?
