  • Craig Ranapia,

he's the director of five active companies:
    [...]
    817427−Centurion Management Services Limited

Oh, yay... That's the company that is supposed to be "providing top quality property management" to our body corporate. Not the way I'd describe over two weeks of unreturned calls regarding a blocked drain that's crossed the line from inconvenient to gag-worthy. If there's an outbreak of cholera or typhoid around here, I know who I'm going to spit on on the way to the hospital.

Or, Mr. Craig might want to suggest to throw a few bucks on staff development about how to clear your fraking voice mail, and why it matters.

  • Sam F,

I love it that Advice Dog, Internets champion of unsound suggestions, managed to wind his way in there. 'Bout a fifth of the way through the Flickr set.

  • Jan Farr,

I thought Yulia's image was being managed to be much more neutral to avoid harming her "brand".

But she's getting ready for motherhood .

    Someone should alert CYPFS.

  • Joe Wylie,

But she's getting ready for motherhood .

"Yulia was born in Volgograd in Russia and immigrated to New Zealand in 2002. She was naturalised in 2005 and said it was at first a shock to come from "a city the size of France to a lot smaller Christchurch"."

Oh dear. At the last count, Volgograd had a slightly smaller population than Auckland.

  • Lucy Stewart,

    Someone should alert CYPFS.

I'm reasonably sure she doesn't read these pages, but I feel that's going a little far.

I'm starting to think some folks weren't taking this whole "march for democracy" thing terribly seriously.

There was a fairly concerted push from Editing the Herald to take this approach, bless them.

  • Steve Barnes,

A Fool and his Money are soon Partying
Looking at the pix from the Demo- Crazy march hare mad haters tea party I get the impression that a large number of those that attended did so only to take the piss. Yes, you can have a great Party for $100 a head but for that kind of cash I would expect better bands.
    :-)

  • dc_red,

But his mother was an atheist and so is he.

    Agnostic surely

All I know is he'd better curtsey at his upcoming meeting with Betty Windsor - or else! - and none of that dodgy arms-around-the-back business a la Paul Keating.

  • richard,

I was wondering how representative those photos were -- but are 9/11 was an inside job people taking the mickey, or absolutely serious.

The line between satire and serious is getting thinner each day.

  • Brickley Paiste,

If you're not just being disingenuous as usual

Wow, dude. Is that really necessary? I asked a few direct and completely unemotive questions because I was interested in your piece. I wasn't being disingenous in the least.

I presume you're not familiar with the degree of personal vilification endured by Kiro.

No, I'm not. Hence my question. The extra information you provided is helpful.

    Uh

    ?

if that's the world you want to live in.

I generally like public officials to be held to high scrutiny even if it is by cookoo people.

But, of course, you're really just trolling from the safety of your pseudonym.

No, I was asking a question because something in your post interested me. I wasn't trolling.

Anyway, sorry if my questions bothered you.

Thanks for the post and extra information.

Yeah, well the Wehrmacht probably helped in that.

I thought bowing and scraping to our feudal "masters" went out around the same time as the invention of the Guillotine?

Yeah, well the Wehrmacht probably helped in that.

Apparently several polls have called for Volgograd's name to be reverted back to Stalingrad, but so far no action has been taken! This is the kind of horror Yulia fled.

Further evidence that my theory that we live in a Post-Irony Age: take any statement made or disseminated on the Internet, and no matter whether or not the individual making said statement was joking, you can be sure that someone somewhere is happy making the same statement completely seriously.

It's the logical extension of Rule 34.

  • Damian Christie,

I recognise at least one of the people holding the fake signs... Mr Barbosa, take a bow... will we be expecting this to pop up as a satirical piece on this week's Media 7 then?

  • Joe Wylie,

This probably isn't ironic, but it's hilarious anyway: "Remember Louis XIV!"

Um, have another look George. He's got the right king if it's guillotines & revolutions he's hinting at.

That's my pedant quota for the year.

I know a queen or two who finds pants (or any other item of clothing) a waste of perfectly good business time.

Absolutely. But comparing the present situation to the French Revolution... Is he suggesting that they'll storm the Beehive and hold public executions?
