  • Ian Dalziel, in reply to Steve Barnes,

the Winston, chur chur chill factor...

For all those that say Winston can’t actually do anything...

Well if he can stop the TPPA going through that would save the country billions in the long run and ensure more money stayed in the country - that's gotta be useful...

so at least they will have to build those bridges,

perhaps 'troll bridges' could be the go?

  • Sofie Bribiesca,

I guess Winston didn't win every booth by this interactive in Harold but bloody good thrashing anyhow.

Come to think of it Winston does, kinda, resemble a big billy goat gruff, Osborne looks like he's had his fill of foldy roll under the bridge and the grass on this side is definitely greener.
Today I am a happier man.

    on the mat…

Stuff giving yet another image of the Oily, I can only infer that my day has started out well.

According to another report on the fight in the Sunday Star Times Slater was also served with bankruptcy proceedings papers just prior to the fight!
<added edit> I now also notice that the photo caption on the SST (print edition) story has him as ‘Cameron Salter’
we all know slugs and salt don’t mix…

…and I now see that KidsCan was the charity all this violence took place for – I had not been able to work out which charities were to benefit from this spectacle from the advance publicity.

and in unrelated news (well a tone of entitlement underpins them) I also see that the father of one of the two St Bede’s Rowers had misled the Judge

Justice Rachel Dunningham’s judgement records show she was told that if one of the boys did not row at the Maadi Cup, he could not be selected to attend the trials for the New Zealand under-19 team, and possibly miss out on the Junior World Championships in Brazil later this year.
Rowing New Zealand rules suggest this is not correct.
According to Justice Dunningham’s judgement, Kennedy stated in an affidavit that if his son could not compete at the Maadi Cup he would miss out on a chance of making the New Zealand under-19 team for this year’s Junior World Championships. Jordan Kennedy is a South Island under-18 representative.
Justice Dunningham went on to say that one of the reasons she was allowing the boys to compete was because not to do so would “stymie his [Jordan Kennedy’s] only opportunity to attend the Junior World Championships.”
However, Rowing New Zealand’s high-performance manager, Alan Cotter, said Shane Kennedy’s statement was not correct.

  • Russell Brown,

HEADS-UP: I've just published a blog post by Philip Lyth that raises the possibility that Peters will decline to bring in a new MP.

    Very interesting.

    I raised that possibility!

    :-)

Everyone assumes a by-election-winning list MP would resign to allow their party an extra MP, but they could decide not to...

  • Alfie,

Mike Sabin has a new job as chief executive of a Chinese-owned, 1000-hectare luxury resort in Karikari. Just saying.
