I have given it a go and it's very fast (even faster than Chrome) but I can't find an ad-blocker for it. Do you know of one that exists? Because if I can't block ads then I will be sticking with Chrome.

I find web browsing an unannoying activity when using Chrome so guess I will stick with that, which is a pity because Opera is fast. Ads just really bug me if I have to block them individually it becomes too much of a pain when I have become used to?

You don't have to do them individually. , it actually blocks the ad server aplication wide. ie. if you block an add on the Herald website that server will be blocked on other sites.
Here is an explanation Here
Also you can be selective about things to block.?

You're welcome. Have you checked out the "Notes" feature, very handy. select text and Right click and select copy to note, this will save the selection to a note. If you double click on a note it will take you back to the page you copied it from, neat eh?.
