  • Hard News: Friday Music: Record Store Day,

a channel specialising in live events. We could do with one of those

If you've got a Sony TV or BluRay, you'll get ... Sony TV! Patch the telly into a modem. Within Sony TV there is a channel called Moshcam. Moshcam itself is a non-linear channel of most of the big (and not so big) acts visiting (or resident in) Australia. I've watched recent concerts of (cough) Alice Cooper (cough), Blondie, Gary Newman, Sea Sick Steve and a bunch of others. All multi camera, reasonable def, solid audio ...

But you need a cable connection between the TV and the modem. Other Sony TV channels run on wifi, but not Moshcam. Maybe it's higher def.

  • Hard News: Spring Timing,

… need the Greens to deliver

There’s going to be lot riding on that. Fortunately for both parties, there are at least 2 groups the Greens can reach that Labour can’t.

Young people (ok, Labour a bit).

National voters (this happens. The Greens do not have an entrenched left-of-labour footprint).

And of course, disheartened Labour voters.

  • Hard News: Bad Judgement,

Tau was truly lame. First "It's not a mistake Geoff. That's not a _mistake_!" And then, a minute later, asked what should come of the TVNZ inquiry: "Well, there's not much you can do. Say sorry, he did wrong, move on."

    Stark-staring mad.

  • Hard News: All John's Friends,

Anyone who would put that man’s feet back under the Cabinet table, where he can do real and lasting damage, is unfit to govern.

For a moment there, he was the only person capable of stopping asset sales. So much for that. But what manner of hell does "the merry band of ninny-hammers" have in store for T3?

  • Hard News: All John's Friends,

Speaking of politicians and stuff, is it just me, or has David Cunliffe come over all sort of meek and mild ever since his ascension? As an orator, he was always kind of from the Jim Anderton school: "Point 1, point 2, point 3 and THAT'S a FACT!" kind of guy. Nowadays he seems all sort of polite and considered.

  • Hard News: Big Friday Music: Counting…,

I doubt it will sound like much to anyone not on site. There's always at least 2 stages performing simultaneously across the venue. Usually more. Unless you're right in front of one of them, it sounds like bzzzzhhhsssswwwhhhhhhhaaaaaaaoooooorrrrrrrwwwwwwwwhhhhhssssssszzzzzb. Except for maybe half an hour at the end.

  • Hard News: It's worse than you think,

In reply to Gareth Swain's excellent question about Key's mysterious ongoing popularity, surely it has to be attributed to conservative proletarians.

In other words, it's not that they like Key. It's that they fear change. Even when change would plainly be in their best interests. But of course, who am I to make a claim like that?

  • Hard News: U: It's about the combos,

I agree. I’m personally ambivalent about the content of U. But I disagree it’s the end of Freeview. When my JCmatthews 380 (thanks Public Address) clapped out last year, I lasted less than 24 hours before rushing out to replace it. U had precisely nothing to do with that.

I can’t bear the thought of forking out 50-100 bucks a month for Sky. Quite happy to record Sunny in Philadelphia and Call the Midwife and catch a time shifted 7 Days after putting the kids to bed (it loses its punch if you watch it recorded).

BTW is Call the MW some kind of massive, Redgrave-sponsored placement for the BLP?
