  • Hard News: Beautiful Images,

Am I correct in thinking you still need special glasses to see these 3D films, and the only advance is they are polarised instead of different colours.
    Deja Vue all over again!

  • Speaker: KidsCan comes back,

Bronwyn, youll will find that most funders require you to stick to the letter of your application. So KC will have specifically asked for money for salaries and running costs.
I checked online for Pelorus Trust who are a pokie trust and they more or less say in general we want to fund programmes not the support staff. They gave $10,000 to KC last year.

This suggests KC cant hide behind its 'tagged funds' as it would have been the one asking for the limitations

  • Speaker: KidsCan comes back,

So Mr Shera is an early riser means its all OK.

If some cant see spin in such comments as 'high protein low sugar' muesli bars ? Since they use standard branded merchandise Ive yet to see one muesli bar that isnt 25% sugar and the average is 33%

This is very circumspect as well... 85 cents in every dollar donated by the general public during Big Night In Telethon will be 'available' for programme delivery.

Not 'spend' or 'allocated' ' but 'available'. The spin being that 85 % of money raised by telethon will be going on their programmes.

In virtually every metric the choice of words gives a far better impression than is actually the case

  • Speaker: KidsCan comes back,

There are so many loopholes in this that you could drive a truck through, just a few for starters..

.. 85 cents in every dollar donated by the 'general public'.
So all the corporate donations dont count ?
So what was the total they are referring to from the general public.?

    and
...All of the wages of KidsCan staff ..
There are wages... and salaries and commissions and so on. Come on, by being too specific they hope we dont notice

This is quite a piece of work , designed to mislead, by an expensive spin doctor

Isnt the Qantas Media awards just another contrived Reality show.

There was the Columbia Journalism School who previously had a connection, who really were from Columbia Missouri.

Im looking forward to the new Jetstar Media Awards... as something to avoid.

  • Hard News: Where your money goes,

Interesting that Maxim beneficiaries are listed as "children/young people"

Someone is having a quiet joke here .

Note also that the location at 49 Cape Horn Rd Hillsborough is the former home of Keith Hay and one of the officers is Jeanette Hay.

Just as well that under National all charitable donations will be tax deductible and not limited per person per year.
So a right wing christian pro business lobby will do very well

  • Speaker: About That Telescope,

I feel a 'Burn Notice' moment coming on when I saw this..

A secret surveillance is necessary. However, the operator is not able to enter the target room in order to place a transmitter. The solution to the problem is our military grade Laser Audio Surveillance System . This system allows the operator to carry out an undetectable surveillance operation from outside the building with a range of up to about 500 meters.

Was the telescope just the cover story for the real surveillance

If only all the people who get their lives splashed across 'The News' get such a chance to put their side.
Seriously could it all be said in 2 paragraphs without any ass kissing
