I don't think that's true at all. Ali Williams for one didn't pick up an oval ball until he was about 17 from memory.

I phoned the Bank and asked how someone other than me could make cash withdrawals and was told that they couldn't.
Go figure that one.Seriously weird.
So I phoned the Council and was told that they don't accept credit card payments
I presume you're talking about AK City. I'm 99% sure they accept Visa or Mastercard for Rates payments.
You wouldn't be the first person to come across an ill-informed AK City Council Call Centre reprsentative though.
You should try something really tricky like trying to get a Resource/Building consent or get a street damage deposit returned.
Although they were very good about the street damage thing in the end, refunding my $500 twice.......

The beauty of using DPS is that you don't record the Credit Card number in your system/database.
You submit the transaction to them and they return you a "token", basically a unique number that is useless without their database.
And they hold the translation between the "token" and the credit card number at their end
There's a bit more to it than that, but that's it in a nutshell I think.
So to get the credit card number you'd have to skim it either physically via some device or via software on the pass thru to DPS somehow.
Or...... get access their database

Those parking machines probably use wireless connection to the internet. They'll will likely have GPRS card in them.
Possibly a breach in there ?
