  • Legal Beagle: Fact check: Q+A on mayoral…,

Is this particular to Auckland as it has its own act?

My understanding was that elsewhere the council would nominate a replacement in cases of resignation but freely admit my reading of the LGA was far from thorough.

  • Hard News: Everybody's Machiavelli,

Bevan Chuang in Both Worlds S1Ep1 on multicultural New Zealanders screened by TV3 and where last night's news had her burlesque performance. Thinking and now knowing this gave me different reactions to some upthread and am posting as may give a fuller perspective on her personality and actions.

RNZ 1pm news: Len Brown has confirmed he was a referee for a council job for the woman he had an extra-marital affair with ... his diary manager, at his request, responded by email to say he highly recommended her.

  • Hard News: Thursday Music: Doing the Business, in reply to Grant McDougall,

I've no idea when her birthday is (nor am I seeking that info) but in a year from now she'll have another birthday before ahe could vote and 2018 the next general election eligible. Her peers might take her endorsement but they're in the same situation.

Something that does appeal to me: If you're entitled to vite but unsure which candidate, why not ask someone presently unable to vote? It would mean some living in New Zealand whose opinions aren't counted are somewhat accounted.

  • Cracker: We Haz Talent?,

It's been a *ahem* fair few years since I made it to Quest gigs but I've enjoyed seeing young talents shine in interviews as well and where they're coming from, quite appropriately free to air.
