  • Speaker: The Fabians: There is an alternative,

The theme of the first seminar series will be around the theme of building a resilient economy – fit for 21st century scenarios, resistant to shocks, ecologically adaptable and responsive.

    Stop making sense!
We need to be borrowing that $250 million a week (or whatever) to stay playing dice at the big table...

  • Hard News: Still crazy after all these years,

The Maori Party actually hold real political power, what they do matters because they control swing votes in the centre. The ACT and Green parties are outlying appendages to National and Labour.

Then what kind of power allowed Rodney to get his supercilious Supercity super silliness pushed through... seems real enough ;- )

Now Rusty - come clean - I'm sure I remember you doing lengths in Mr Gibbs Judge's Bay swimming pool some years ago... :- )

re: the unraveling of Bailey Junior Kurariki...

Two Herald on Sunday journalists, both women, visited Kurariki's house in the hope that they could tap him for a little more spectacle to help them in the Sunday paper chase.

Now I'm sure you meant trap him that seems to be the new way of creating "news"...

    re: funding the NZCPR
now there was me thinking this was some organistion trying to resuscitate New Zealand
    - but I see it is chest beating of a different kind...

  • Hard News: Auckland: where only one man votes,

...and am I the only one whose immediate reaction to the ECan situation was a prolonged expletive?

and the unreal disconnect and hypocrisy of Bob Parker and the Mayors playing "witch-finders" - Parker is hardly one to talk about proper procedure - guess he'll be taking a large stock of those "throwing stones" into his new council HQ "glass House" - er retrofitted postal sorting centre
    - thinking about it, it's odd he doesn't espouse the theory that the new council bldg in Hereford street will "revitalise" or add "vibrancy" to the inert,
er inner city ... it'll sure add parking problems!

It was that bastard Allende that caused this!!! His ghost that is....

    more 9/11 conspiracy theories then...
    9/11, 1973 that is....

while channel surfing myself, I had the misfortune to see a brief segment of Geraldo on Focks TV - trying to get someone to say the earthquake (and the whole ring of fire) might have something to do with global warming, later I saw some of Mike Yardley on CTV, what a pair of sanctimonious, smug wastes of carbon - I despair for humanity at times...

    Building a better world...?
Lest we forget that the rush to implement new technology (and higher profits...) has its victims:
