  • Hard News: Don't Panic,

He reminds me of a guy who played soldiers with me for a year and then left & published a book (through Bill Rolston) on intellegence and later wrote for Investigate.

    Ben Vidgin?

  • The Amazing Extraordinary Friends - free…,

I audience-tested it. My ten year old daughter says 'cool'. For more eloquence than that, I suspect you have to insert money.

  • Hard News: Don't Panic,

All though in these times it is difficult to dispel any conspirocy theory I think it is quite far fetched to think that this was directed at Gay Pride. Old Compton St would be the obious place to park a car bomb to attack the Gay community.

OTOH, it was the same weekend as the annual gay pride parade. (Which was always, as I recall, a jolly good show.)

If you were aiming for the gay community you'd want to be bombing this.

LONDON, June 24, 2007 – Torn between loyalty to Pride London – but don’t want to miss Doctor Who?

The Pride London team and the Doctor Who producers have solved this dilemma by announcing that the last gripping episode in the current series will be shown on the big daylight screen in Trafalgar Square at 7.10pm on Pride Day, Saturday June 30.

  • Radiation: A load of PUS,

I thought I had it all figured out, but Utopia freaked me out so much that I was watching through my fingers.

The week before, Blink - made me realise I may not be too old to hide behind the couch.

Sound of Drums is the first time I've ever forced my partner to sit down and watch the episode the day the Friends in England sent it over.

Any truth to the persistent rumour that RTD is quitting after the next series?

  • Island Life: Are you old enough?,

That was just practise, in case you became an MP.

I feel I became officially old the day Charles Chauvel entered parliament. How can someone who once helped you get up one Wellington hill too many by packing everyone down like a scrum and then charging up it screaming be an MP? It's just not right.

Any 16 yr old spending time thinking about national politics doesn't deserve to be 16.

Being the Aorangi Regional Rep on the Labour Youth Council at 16 did absolutely nothing to stop me being, well, very sixteen. The Labour Party even paid for me to fly to Wellington and get drunk there.

  • Cracker: See More on 3,

To use a sports for an example, the best thing to do when watching live sport is to turn on the TV, turn off the sound and replace it with the radio commentary of your choice.

The great thing about doing this is that you can hear a cracking shot or the ball hitting the wickets and turn around in time to see on TV. Otherwise, the slight delay between sound and vision is kind of annoying. Worth it, though, to not have to listen to Martin Crowe.

  • Hard News: Ready to Fly,

really fine story on the issue for Close Up last night

And to think I watched Campbell Live's combo of... Kids are obese and worried about their image.

The world is going a bit funny I think.

In our house, we did 'violent tv is bad for kids'... via Futurama.

  • Southerly: Late for What?,

When we lived in South London a colleague of my wife's named her child Aiden. She liked Hayden, but figured everyone would just call him 'Ayden anyway. Say it like chav, it's more funny.

2005, I think it was, four of the top five boys' names in the States were Aiden, Hayden, Jaiden and Kaiden. Originality is over-rated.

    Ernest Maurice Alan

It would be a lot to live up to

Ernst Stavros Blofeld, now THERE's a name to live up to...

  • OnPoint: Cooked goose, chicken, etc.,

You know, the opposite of Coddingtonswallop.

    Ng-candescent? 8-)

I'd've stood up and applauded that, but I'd have looked like a complete twat.
