    All kea, no responsibility...

Didn’t Wild South used to be a top rating show in the 80s?

It has been released on DVD, so you should be able to get it at the Library - otherwise it is probably trapped (along with the large parts of the rest of our TV heritage) behind Sky's paywall at Heartland TV.
Does anyone know how much TVNZ makes from that particular deal?

  • Speaker: Damien Hirst: the dollars and sense?,

If the inspirational Reuben Bonner is coming back to NZ maybe he could do an 'outsider art' show for TVNZ7, oh hang on....

    blowing your own Angel's Trumpet?

I was on a datura bender from Friday morning
till Monday and hence missed everything.

I suspect it is the Government that is on the Datura bender, they are exhibiting all the classic symptoms:

Datura intoxication typically produces effects similar to that of an anticholinergic delirium (as contrasted to hallucination): a complete inability to differentiate reality from fantasy ; hyperthermia; tachycardia; bizarre, and possibly violent behavior ; and severe mydriasis with resultant painful photophobia that can last several days. Pronounced amnesia is another commonly reported effect.

ooops, I just checked again and The Press have printed my 'spambot' rave in the comments (I'm #75) - must have been a blockage in the system, too much other crap?
    :- )

Keep persevering Joe - it may depend on who is moderating.

    having a laugh…

I always giggle when someone derides “do-gooders”.

I tried to put a comment up recently (at The Press site) that the unverifiable identity of the very annoying “sock puppet” or “concern troll” commenter known as “Sheelagh” on the Press site (though ‘she’ seems to think it is her site) is possibly an artificial persona construct of the ruling elite, or maybe a ‘syntax algorithm’ (based on the recurring phrases ‘she’ uses) – all that, and my suggestion of a Turing Test for commenters went unpublished…
    <sigh>

    That darned sock puppet…
Hosking seems to have derived all his information from that nonsense editorial in The Christchurch Press some weeks back.
Interesting to note that he does not identify himself with the “chattering classes”, does this mean he does not consider himself educated or part of the Media – perhaps in good faith he should resign his role as the uncombed face of Close Up on Fridays.
How does he justify this lie: “…the simple truth is no one watches it. Not now, not since it’s been on” and he then goes on to enumerate the people that do watch it, with very dodgy math showing his complete lack of knowledge of the industry he makes his living in (as you have so excellently pointed out, Russell), how sad.
Even more sad is that he is happy to deprive not just adults, but the nation’s children of quality and intelligent shows that they love and enjoy, as the shows are stimulating and don’t patronise and pander – as most of the kids fare on the commercial channels do (so much for growing a 'knowledge economy' future).
Can Hosking assure us that he knows of no plans by his other masters (SkyCity) to enter the TV field – aside from ousting TVNZ7 (and others) from its buildings for a new convention centre if The Smiling Assassin gets his way.

<I tried to post this comment on that ZB page but it doesn’t support Google identities and I don’t do any of the other options – bastards!>

I think Jody Lloyd did some of them,
he supplied me with the link,
not sure if he did them all,
he usually has a lot more class
    than some of them exhibit....
