There still seems to be covenants though.
Is Sutton going to lift them ?The arc of the covenant?

Sutton on his hands...
I noticed a great new interpretation of the CERA acronym in one of The Press comment threads yesterday... Carting Earthquake Rubble Away - and that really is all they seem to have any success at.
Keeping up with the Jonestowns...
Chchch Council assets are back in the Government's sights - with another wonderfully glib doublespeak quote from Brownlee:"We were never saying or even trying to imply that they needed to go out and sell their assets but they do have the capacity to raise cash against those assets ... Notwithstanding what [English] said, we are not forcing them to do anything. It's not our decision."
Brownlee wants us to drink the same Koolaid that Bill English is selling at his lemonade stall/garage sale....

Is it just me? Am I just an old curmudgeon?
But the BNZ's 'Closed for Good' promotion seems to be unnecessarily punitive on their customers - not everyone has ATM cards or internet banking, I needed to make a cash withdrawal today - no BNZ banks open anywhere useful in Chchch. I also understand most benefits went in last night so many beneficiaries might not be able to go make cash withdrawals (or deposit money for that matter) - They're a bank for gawd's sake.
If they want to do "good" in the community using their staff, do it on a Saturday or Sunday and pay them extra rather than withhold their services from their customers, or just have a skeleton staff and still provide services to their customers...
Grrrr. Bah. Humbug!I'm changing to KiwiBank...
