  • Hard News: Deconstruct This,

... has anyone here ever worn a hand-knitted jumper with a keyboard design on it? Anyone?

My Mum knitted me a jumper with a stave with notes on it to my own design. It was about the nerdiest thing I have EVER worn.

And I still have a Squeeze-era Jools Holland keyboard skinny tie.

  • Hard News: Lucinda Williams made me cry,

I just hope that nobody has been texting at any of these concerts.

Oh, that would be me! Twittering about uptight concert goers, er, funnily enough.

  • Hard News: The Casino,

Wait. UMP paid €53? A little googling tells me this is a "standard fee" for the "French music licensing body". That kind of usage would cost thousands here. Am I missing something?

Poneke's a bit partial to the purple prose, isn't he?

Truly is the LHC project the greatest scientific experiment in all of human history, and how fantastic we are alive to experience it.

  • Speaker: Copyright Must Change,

Treating creative expression as criminal, argued Lessig, is "corrosive", because it raises children in an environment where breaking the law is normalised.

My 8 year old son now thinks if you spell "BluTak" "Blue Tak" you'll get arrested, following a parental discussion about the © and ™ symbols.

  • Hard News: History is now,

At the Republican election party thing, they have choirboys. Choirboys. I'm just gonna let that sit there.

And if they had had choirboys at the Democrats party thing?

  • Hard News: Heard any good tunes lately?,

    OT now, but

Adrian Sherwood and Tackhead at the powerstation, one of my top three gigs ever.

reminds of my top two gigs ever. On-U Sound at the T&C; and 808 State, same place, Björk guesting. My bass-rattled guts have never forgotten.
