  • Hard News: Rain on his parade,

Lets try that again. This project is a wonderful attempt to give a real look at the female form. I recommend looking at the page and tracking down the film.

  • Hard News: Medical Matters,

"The facts I refer to are that the baby (translate the word in your mind if you must) is alive and human. Those facts are indisputable and nobody is prepared to put their money on the line in order to dispute them."

No those are not facts. Those are your beliefs. The fact's are that at conception a sperm joins with an egg to form a single cell that with the right conditions splits and grows. Those cells are not alive, are not a baby and are not human. You keep mistaking your beliefs for facts.

  • Hard News: Medical Matters,

I am unsure as to whether I am feeding the trolls or advancing any debate, but my two cents. :-)

With the whole keeping the baby / not keeping the baby child rearing discussion choice comes up a lot, but at certain points the men involved get a distinct lack of choice.

I think that when abortion is a viable option and the parents are not in a committed relationship, the father should get a legal option to express an opinion on what happens and their responsibilities there after. I.E. a statutory declaration that they do not want the child, would prefer an abortion, and if the mother still wishes to continue they waive any guardianship rights and are absolved of any financial burdens.

As an aside I believe that if a mother sues for sole custody and guardianship, then they should not then be able to claim child support. This is one of the problems with the current system. If you pay for your child’s upbringing you should also have a say.

  • Hard News: You can't always get what you…,

but put it on the web for free/cheap? the thing's now on my high-rotation list, and i'm thinking of buying the artwork to go with it. and more importantly i'm telling everyone how much i like it.
tell me that's a model your copyright/DRM fanatics would support.

I think the difference is in control. A lot of the “copyright/DRM fanatics” want to be able to choose to make it available rather than have it ripped and burned by Chinese tech pirates…

you can take the CD to a librarian or a teacher who, providing she has been authorised by...
That's a slap in the face to this nation's two dozen male teachers if ever I saw one

And myself and the other three dozen male librarians …

  • Hard News: Phoning a Friend,

"And finally, congratulations are due to Hillary Clinton's people for getting so much momentum for talk of her "comeback" when the fact is she can't win. Not in the conventional sense of picking up more delegates than her opponent anyway."

Well that also depends on the fall out from the Florida delegates as well.

However, from my reading it seems that in the end neither can win without superdelegates now.

  • Hard News: A thing that rarely ends well,

"I know it's "par for the course" when in opposition, to keep the incumbent "honest" but the way they have behaved in the last three years would be regarded a treason in a lot of countries."

Well it's a good thing it isn't here! Really all they have done is had a look at Helen and Michael from 1999, realised how effective they were and modelled themselves on them.
