Eating Media Lunch
It's back on the telly for another season! Fridays at 9.30 on TV2.
So let us direct our EML-related love and/or scorn here.
I'm currently feeling amorous towards the photo of Jeremy as Clint Brown in the doorway with the black eye.
That is SO good!
And I am over the moon that it's finally on a night where I can stay up without having to worry about work (yes I do feel like an old man).
I much prefer EML to that Un-authorised History they did. I felt it was too contrived. Which seems a silly thing to say about Jeremy Wells.
Oo, it might just be me, but IE7 is not liking that oversized link in the title post.
I'm really looking forward to new EML, although screening Friday night is a bit of a bummer - I'm going to have to trundle out the VCR.

This is now fixed. We'll probably reveal how to embed text links sometime soon in that little list of instructions below.

I know, but it's good if you're trying to save money by not going out.
Still I always thought EML would sit nicely in that Sunday 9.30 slot

Can't help but feel friday's gonna mean a lot of the core audience won't be able to watch it when it airs... then again it'll rate through the roof thanks to everyone who spends the night glued to their telly regardless of what is actually on.
Well, i heart MySKY... Friday night stumbles home will have EML at the end of 'em for a bit - choice!

I thought that the first show was pretty good. A bit too much on the Nicky Watson stuff. The Woolly Valley in Farsi was surreal.
Over on Prime at the same time was the Encore Performance of Holmes blathering on with Judy Bailey. Which one was extracting the urine about local personalities???

MySKY, Schmysky. My doddery old PC with Win XP Media Centre Edition and a TV aerial lead can record free-to-air tv just as well while I'm off playing WOW and eating a nice butter chicken.
I did like the look of the new season of EML, though.

TV is looking up... Deadwood is back! (ok it's only occasionally a comedy!) Green Wing, the return of Moon TV and now EML. Must get a HD dvd recorder.... or a tv card for the laptop- 'cos they sometimes are hard to catch. (And yeah, 7:30 friday is a stinko time-slot. What were they thinking? Or in EML-speak, where can I get the crack they were smoking when they dreamt that up)..
It bothered me that the Iranian 20/20 presenter and the Iranian correspondent were clearly played by the same actress.
Like, how hard is it to get another Iranian comedic actress in New Zealand? Oh, wait...

Or at the very least, subbed Cliff Curtiss for one of them.

Did someone say deadwood was back?? When?
Jeremy Wels is the "thinking mans" Paul Holmes.....

That's Gollee, the bFM Breakfast newsreader - she seems quite a talent. Yesterday Mikey played a song she recently recorded that contained some amazing singing (in Persian, presumably) .
Good sense of humour too ...

Deadwood: 9:40ish Sunday nights on Prime. Not a bad slot- tho it over-runs Frontseat a tad.

There are a couple of YouTube uploaders promising to post the best bits. I'll link to them in OurTube if and when they appear.
I might try and get hold of the al Qaeda bloopers tape they did. That rocked.

I can't figure out whether that's an insult or not. I know if someone even tangentally linked me to Holmesy, I'd punch them in the mouth. And I'm a pacifist.

Definitely an insult. The small man should fade away.

There's a torrent of the first episode available at The Pirate Bay. It's about 150MB.

Not intended as an insult, Paul Holmes brings you the news and Jeremy also brings the news and all the other unreported items to boot. The use of Holmes was more of an attempt at an analogy. -sorry

excellent!
Yo Cass! Thanks!
I'll leave these here but also stick them in OurTube.
There is no need to upload on YouTube. TVNZ are putting EML online in full.

Great, huh?

I'm just going to have a quiet chuckle here.

Uploading on YouTube hooks you into a dynamic you don't get from streaming off your corporate site, but it's still a good move.
Tip for Mac users. If you use the Flip4Mac components and plugin to view the TVNZ clips you can download them. When, of course, they have finally loaded ...
I take back everything I said about the Friday night slot being a good idea.
It's a stupid idea, maybe Saturday morning would be better. After all EML does have cartoons.
Thanks to the torrent guys at Diwana.org, I've been able to catch this along with Pulp Sport and some other kiwi gems. I must say this show didn't grab me. It reminded me in some ways of Brasseye (presumably this was shown in NZ? but I don't know).
The cartoon segments made me cringe...
I'll watch a couple more episodes though, it shows promise.
Thanks for the tip about TVNZ hosting it.
