I see that two versions of it are in the most-linked videos on Technorati today.

So what does it say about us as New Zealanders? Eh? Eh?

SPOILERS: WATCH THE BIRD FIRST

Is it suggesting that Kiwis are good at solving problems and that we can look at things "outside the box" for all the good it will do us...?

Is it suggesting that blindly following our dreams and going it alone is quite a terminal [velocity] occupation?

or is it something ... deeper?

Disclaimer: I am not actually a Kiwi or a kiwi.

Yes nice animation.

SPOILERS!

But bit of a downer. I always want to know what happens afterwards. The thud didn't allow me to imagine a happy ending
:-(

I'm glad the world is watching this..it's very cool, and I like the end. All that work for one perfect moment - it's a nice story :)

And now I know OurTube is here so it's been win win for me :)

In an interview with Dony Permedi, the animator, he says that he was originally going to make the bird a chicken, but switched to a kiwi because chickens are pretty common in cartoons.

But by making the bird a kiwi, it's given it a whole extra layer of meaning to New Zealanders. We don't just see a flightless bird or a flightless bird that could be a human - we see a flightless bird that represents the very essence of what it means to be a New Zealander.

Would it have the same resonance to capital-K Kiwis if the bird was a chicken or a penguin?

Ah, pay TV.

One day... one day...

Of course, for the Most Irritating Game of the year, may I recommend:

you'll have to switch it over from French to English to really enjoy the abuse, but give it a go. I've wasted HOURS at it.

stupid interweb.
