Done. Awesome site and community.

Andre Alessi, in reply to
or perhaps we could fold him back into the brine – in some kind of Super-Marination process?
Soon bloggers here will be packed in like the sardines they secretly are.

Done. I always liked how KQED (National Public Radio station in the US) had their annual pledge week a decade or so ago. Could easily transpose online. Their fundraising has gone broader now.
I wonder if Richard Griffin has been schooling himself up in this area as well?

Done - a widow's mite, but PA has kept me sort of sane all these many years.

Wow, PAS enriches a lot of lives, mine included, it’s hardly fair it should be impoverishing you, Russell! I think an annual koha would be entirely the right thing. Pick a date for the next one. I doubt I’m the only one who’s feeling a bit embarrassed you’ve been footing the bill for so long!
Arohanui to you and all the other folk who make this such an awesome place.

Russell: about to throw a wad of cash in your worthy direction but I wonder if we could have a regular subscriber option, as I do with Werewolf on a monthly AP basis.
-
Happy to help. Would contribute annually if you wanted to launch a subscription scheme.

With pleasure. And what Simon Bennett said.

The problem with KQED (and the other NPR stations) pledge drives is that giving them money doesn't actually make them stop the inane pledge drives -0 if anything it only encourages them to do it again

Good idea Russell - I am more than happy to contribute. Keep up the good work!

Done, with great pleasure. It's not much I'm sorry, but am strapped these days.
I very much appreciate the work you have done on this site Russell.
+1 to everything everyone else has said in this thread.

Hence the KQED pledge free stream

Off the pace today, but here's my contribution to the contribution drive on Twitter:
Consider making a contribution to @publicaddress, or my pole-dancing thong comes out of retirement. Do it for the kids.
Times are hard and I don't make idle threats, folks.

...and if I ever win Lotto, all PAS contributors will be set up in a palace of their own...and Craig will get his very own pole.

Could a similar system work for TVNZ 7 Media 7 , court report, Back benchers etc. ?I would be happy to donate to prolong the life such TV . BBC World Service radio in Auckland has a successful model of funding from private sponsors. Good Luck Russell.

oooh that's new - probably wouldn't work from my car though (the main place I ever listened to KQED)
-
You say you want a contribution
We-ell, you know
We all want to change the world...Be warned - I'll turn up at one of those Blendy things as a Single Malt.
-
I've done mine now too, worth every cent, thanks Russell.

Done, and very happy to have been able to do so.
I'm loving watching so many people being so pleased to be able to make a contribution.
-
Done - and add me to the list of those happy to turn this into an annual subscription thingy, Russell.
Also - I'd love a Public Address coffee mug! Cool idea Ant!

Matthew Poole, in reply to
I think all PA readers are avid coffee snobs and would like a collectable mug each year.
There's got to be someone on here who's sufficiently artistic that they could come up with a novel, PAS-relevant mug design every year. Probably several someones. Hell, why not just go down the full-on merch route using one of the many websites devoted to such things? Pretty minimal time overhead to get it setup, and an on-going revenue stream that would support the functioning of PAS.
