Ruby was a year old yesterday, and spent her birthday in the company of my family. She was universally loved and had a wonderful time. This photo is of my nephew Sam – he’s 16 and a sweet sweet boy. He was very taken with Ruby, and she was very taken with him. Hence the long pink thing, which is her tongue, as she tries very hard to pash him.

Last time I was at Pt Chevalier Beach, the tide was out, the pohutukawa had finished flowering, the sky was boring - so I had to liven it up a bit.

Their IPA is amongst the best I reckon, quite hoppy and full flavoured, not really that cheap $14 on special at t supermarket so cheaper than Epic but on a par IMHO.
    Wish I had more.

A lovely big family Christmas - here is my girl and her cousin on his new trampoline. Yesterday there was 9 under 4s in our extended family bouncing here.

No wonder you need a cage for them. Did the one in the hut escape?

    ETA.
Snap, great minds think alike it seems ;-)

  • Geoff Lealand,

Yes, when did trampolines become enclosures? My son and his pals used to leap from the garage roof on to the mat---so much more daring than bouncing around in something which looks like a chicken coop.

  • Lilith __,

As someone who lost her front teeth at age 11 to the edge of an old-style trampoline with no safety mats, I feel no nostalgia for the old days :-)

Yes. We had a swimming pool area that was roofed over, and my brothers used to jump from that into the pool. Only one tooth was ever lost. A miracle, really.

Great to see the sun is shining for you all. This pic is for the holiday we intended to have this year beneath the pohutukawa in Northland... except 2011 machinated otherwise.

Not sure I'm supposed to go round fixing syntax errors for people, but I can, so I did. It was a mere trifle after all. ;-)

Great sky Sofie. Very intense looking cloud citizens, with those furrowed brows. I see another one right of centre, kind of like the Wizard of Oz lion.

We have the 'safety' nets, but haven't put them on yet. Apart from the complexity in the instructions, I'm also uncertain I want them trying more difficult moves than they already do, in the illusion of being safer. But it could just be I'm a bad, and lazy, dad.
