Oh, not at all (and sorry, Kyle, if it came across that way).
I'll quite happily concede that I'm ignorant about many things, the lives of poets being near the top of the list. I am however skilled at finding things out, so I guess I've got that "lifelong learning" thing going on.
So sorry about that, Jolisa. If only you were back in NZ then the ACC might be able to help with the cost of your counselling!
If they don't pay for counselling for rape victims, I'm hoping that the budget doesn't stretch to "used to live in Chch trauma". That would be a messed up set of priorities.

If you link to an image, it doesn't mean it appears on your website.
I mean more the imbedding of an image than the 'linking to'. That certainly what was a big issue when my uni library put up digital collections of art.
My department had to get legal advice on the copyright of reproductions of artworks - either photos taken of them, or published works that contain those photos, as we use them extensively in teaching.
The answer was, the more steps there are along the chain (publisher, photographer, gallery/museum, artist) etc, the more copyright gets complicated.
But certainly, we were told that it was possible that a photographer could sue you for using their photo of something, if they had retained some rights, which is likely.
How likely it is that would happen? Depends on your use, but typically 'not very'. A major company doing an international advertising campaign should be damn careful. A teacher ripping some images off a web site and some scans out of a book for their classes... very low risk.

But seriously: Te Papa? Our Place? I guess it was a sign that someone didn't have a clue.
To be fair, they're probably trying to protect people from using copyrighted images. Artists and estates may provide permission for a museum or gallery to put images up on a web site on the condition that it only appears on that web site.
Obviously that's damn hard to make happen in the real world, but stringent terms and conditions may have been part of their attempt.
Not everyone has the ability to work in ideal conditions around the internet.

Yes. Read it a couple of weeks ago.

I can't tell you how pleased I am that someone got that!
I had to do research. In my defence, I never saw the movie.

He made the news because he lost the plot and said stupid and offensive things in front of a room full of media people.
Today it's been reported as a 'roast', a la Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents Dinner. If that's true, I guess he was under the impression that it would be received in that context.

In ice hockey if play is stopped because a player is injured, that player must leave the ice and go to the bench while play resumes. And it has to be a serious injury, where the referee thinks medical attention might be required. It's a good rule. Ice hockey players don't lie around on the ground, they get themselves up and either drag themselves to the bench or chase the other team.

@Kyle: With all due and sincere respect, Kyle, if those "people" were lobbyists, big-ticket campaign contributors or stood to make a hell of a lot of money from Greater Auckland contracts then it's a perfectly legitimate matter of public interest.
I don't have a problem with people asking the question "who did you have lunch with and what did it lead to".
But the only reason that the question is being asked here is because it was put on the credit card and it's been made public. I'm not sure a few hundred dollars on dinner is the potentially corrupt part of the equation.
If the people of the good city of Auckland or one of its soon to be gone smaller cities want a list of everything their Mayor has done and who they've met with, fine, ask for that. Picking on one dinner and who was there?

It seems worth noting that dozens of ministers from either major party have had exactly the same kind of expenses accepted without naming everyone (or anyone) at the table.
I'd be much more concerned if they were meeting people for lunch/dinner and weren't paying. I think that Banks story listed a property developer that he met with. I'd be concerned if mayors started getting expensive free lunches from people who have a lot to gain from city council decisions.
