  • Lilith __,

Sorry to hear about your family places, Islander, that must be really hard. So you'd need somewhere to stay?

Well, I wouldnt want to impose on anyone Lilith – but there or surrounding areas -aint family places in Chchch(and they used to be out at Waikuku Beach as well) any more…as we keep telling each other we are *extremely lucky* inasmuch
we had other places to be in, go to...doesnt help the hurt of old places gone, that we used to inhabit-
BUT, so many others are in much more dire straits-

Hm, I doubt it would be an imposition! My household's in a state of flux at present (not in a bad way, just changes) but there might well be a spare room here at some point. I'm sure that between all of us Chchers, we can come up with something!

I think we'll all be grieving for a long time about places gone, whether private or public. This might sound trivial compared to the loss of a home, but I'm really sad about the loss of Whitewash Head, one of my special places in Chch, windblown vantage point above the sea, site of many picnics and gatherings of friends.

It was learning that Rawhiti domain was - changed -that blew my mind.
That was a tiny bike-ride down the road...a trike-ride/I did it-
Leaver Terrace/BowhillRoad -my area, along with North Beach Primary - where I grew up as a wee kid, and the beaches east-
no loss of place is trivial - in our ways, for our own loved places, we grieve
