Something to share - I switched the auto correct and the predictive off, on my smartphone. My train of thought improved markedly, and almost immediately. Its like I've been walking around wearing goggles and a snorkel.
I didn't even realise how much impact that assumably helpful AI was having on my ability to operate creatively. I'm a little different maybe; my dyslexia doesn't adapt well to having a machine interfering and hassling at nearly the speed of light. My brain is only operating on 20 watts of energy.
My brain is only operating on 20 watts of energy.
I think those bio wet cell batteries run around 12.5 watts with a good supply of potassium and sodium and efficient myelin insulation on the synaptic axons.
Sounds 'dim' but it keeps multiple 'ions' in the fire, without setting the entire gray cranial forest of dendrites ablaze.
What are you quarantining - surely that rust won't spread to plants?
<q>Great call from ANZ NZ. And the other banks?
ANZ NZ Media
We’ll be providing free contactless debit transactions for eligible small business customers until 30 June. More support for small businesses to come.
Yer na, Thats just lazy mindless robotic gratitude @bernardhickey.
A review into the competitiveness of our retail payments industry (started by former commerce and consumer affairs minister Jacqui Dean) found fees to merchants (that’s retailers) totalled an estimated $461 million in 2016.
Thats right, thats nearly half a billion dollars a year. Thats how much looking cool and modern and pay-waving sucked out of this economy. This economy be us human people.
So to clarify. I received an opportunistic spam email from the ANZ bank that amounts to psychopathic cashing in on this pandemic event.
What providing free contactless debit transactions for eligible small businesses really means, is that the ANZ bank gets to expand it’s client base. It means that there will be cultural pressure on the operators of corner dairies to provide this 'essential service'. It’s not an essential service, its a banking system that is effectively taxing goods and service transactions and not putting it into things like hospitals equiped with things like ventilators, for example.
Note, the ANZ bank is “helping” selected small businesses until June. My telco is also offering me a special limited lime deal on a smart phone, so I get hooked into a contract.
I’m starting to suspect the @bernardhicky might not be thinking things thru. The ANZ bank, does not deserve outbursts of gratitude on this particular issue.
Pay-wave will not make a jot of difference. You’re still going to be touching things, like what ever it is you buy, and you would still want to be paying attention to what your hands are doing between washings. Grow the fuck up!
As Cuba closed its borders to protect its citizens from the COVID-19 virus, its famed medical teams are continuing to arrive in European and Caribbean countries to help others overcome the pandemic’s scourge.
Cuba’s humanitarian help drew a venomous attack yesterday from the Trump administration. The State Department sent a warning to countries against accepting Cuba’s doctors’ assistance. The U.S. is not offering similar assistance.
Just in case you where wondering what they where up to these days.
pac-n-save bagged all the pic-n-mix. Not the apples in the big apple bins.
Wash your apples with soapy water before you put them in your mouth.
People are twittering their observations that super market workers are treated like crap and anything Donald Trump does, at ruffly the same time.
People in high paid government jobs are gloating on twitter about their personal home comforts.
