What a dog's breakfast. Also hard to negotiate running.
Western springs road, pre motorway, made a hard right turn to end at the cnr of great south road.

Hard News: Bikelash, paralysis – and progress, in reply to
Prager's protest against felling the pine trees between West View Road and the Zoo is particularly barmy. I'm sure the Green Party are stoked that she is using the back of their election signs for her placards.

Agree with everything you’ve said Russell. Went along on Sunday with the family – very impressive. Two small gripes – the blue bridge has some unpainted steel which I think detrimentally affects its look and the brown/orange stain on the concrete by the motorway can be rubbed off with fingers.
I’m looking forward to the northern side of New North Road opening. I’ve jumped the fences and run along the unfinished path (and bridge) over the past few weeks and it is going to be very cool.
For runners, the existing Oakley creek walkway (past the waterfall) is perfectly serviceable and avoids the traffic and fumes on Great North Road. -

Hard News: Rugby Now, in reply to
When the current NZRU deal with SKY is up, my bet is on internet providers gaining the rights to some or all All Blacks games. Maybe the NZRU will split up the product - Tri Nations to one, end-of-year tour to another, with Lions and RWC negotiated as well.

Neil Diamond in the mid 1990s was in the round at Mt Smart. From memory the stage revolved slowly. Great concert too, notwithstanding an overload of boomer dancing.

There'll be such a great view of the beautiful lines of Hopetoun Bridge. Leave it bare! It's a brutal site - let's embrace it. No concrete native flora motifs!

We heard the boom from Third Ave - by the far the loudest in the 13 years I've been there. Helped by the stillness of the night. Didn't make up for the power cut from 7.10 until 8.20pm.
