Hi Lynley....just be aware that you can't post any details of living people on the TM Board...TM rules to protect the privacy of those concerned. Also, TM don't like you posting contact details
I'm happy to help...I do a lot of adoption cases. you can contact me at diannem@xtra.co.nz -

No...not a genius. Just know where to look for certain things. By chance, a couple of well researched family Trees on Ancestry have provided most of the info.

Oh dear...seem that Eliza Ann's family with William Winter are totally unaware of Eileen's existence
This from the Ancestry Tree
"If it's possible I'd like more information on how this relationship was decided upon by the creator of this family tree. The existence of Eileen is unknown in my family, I am a great granddaughter of Eliza Ann WINTER. I note from my search on Ancestry.com that there is another Eliza Winter who lived in the Ellesmere area of Canterbury and in Timaru. While I haven't investigated her thoroughly there is no record of EAW having lived in Ellesmere or Timaru in our family story. Our EAW married William John David WINTER first, then Frederick KENNARD. She had, as far as I know, two daughters and three sons. They lived in St. Albans. Barbara Blanchard" -
Eliza Ann and William Winter had 5 other children…all now deceased.
Eileen and her hubby Fred Mcreanor are buried at Burwood Cemetery, CHCH. Fred died in 1939.
Their son Frederick George Coleman McCreanor (known as George) died in 2004. Born 1932.
The owner of the Tree on Ancestry is a McCreanor descendant who lives in CHCH. -
Not sure where I got that Eliza Ann's husband was a vicar. From all accounts he was a very nasty piece of work.
Eliza Ann Winter (sorry maiden name WEBB, not Good as stated above) died on 14 Oct 1942 in ChCh. Interesting that her former husband, William Winter died on the very next day.
She married a Fred Kennnard in 1898. -
A bit more info
Eileen Winter Coleman was born on either 1 or 3rd Dec 1891 either at Ashburton or the ChCh area. She died on 25 July 1963 at 178a Fendalton Rd ChCh. -
No death for Eileen Winter Coleman in 1900...she married in 1931 to a Frederick McCreanor.
There is a very detailed McCreanor family Tree on Ancestry.com giving details about Eileen Winter's adoption by George and Amelia Coleman. Her birth parents are recorded as"
George Hlidebrand Alington and Eliza Ann WINTER nee Good.so have George and the vicar's wife had a bit of a fling and Eileen the result?

Maybe a Eureka moment....
George Coleman married Amelia Mary KNEVITT in 1864 in Fitzroy, Aust.
Amelia Mary died in 1912 in CHCH, buried in Linwood Cem...as is George in 1903.
In 1894-ish they adopted a girl known as Eileen Winter Coleman.
There is a person researching this family on Ancestry.com. Of course, you have to be aware that not everything recorded on Ancestry.com has been researched accurately. I'll have a look at the death records for an Eileen Winter Coleman in 1900 as per Lynley's post above. -

Right....That's what happens when you assume things...I was very taken by the foot-printed chimney brick;-)).
Looking at George Coleman...recorded in e.rolls in Canty and St Canty... a George Coleman...commission agent lived in Ashburton in 1886-1890.
In 1900 a George Coleman and his wife living in Ashburton. Listed as "gentleman and gentlewoman".
