I was appalled when I saw the video recently, but it certainly doesn't take a rocket surgeon to imagine the pitch to the marketing people at Air NZ.
[A Boardroom, midday. 12 white, middle class and heterosexual guys are sitting around the table]
Charles from Saatchi BBDO: "Okay guys, so we're thinking we shoot this thing in Fiji or the Cook Islands over a week with 10 - 15 swimsuit models. We'll all be required to be on set at all times."
Jim from Air NZ: "Sold. When do we go?"

Was that the one when Karen was obviously stoned and Sam Hunt made an appearance? Sam had just been given some accolade for poetry and Karen asked what he got for it, he made mention of something and then spread his arms wide and said, "..and a really, really big bag of pot." My teenage self fell to the floor laughing.
Live TV in New Zealand in the 1980's was grand. You could get away with some other remarkable things too once in a while.

Whitney Houston songs always annoyed the hell out of me, especially I Will Always Love You. Awful thing to say, but when she left this world I really hoped she might take that song with her. This however always makes me run away from where ever it is playing, or reach for the switch while promising harm.
