  • Field Theory: Four Years Ago,

That's scary reading back over that thread from four years ago.

I can feel the frustration bubbling up again

  • Field Theory: How's that working out for…,

The claim (heard less frequently in recent times to be fair) that the RWC is the 3rd biggest global sporting event has a lot to answer for.

I’m also looking forward to the RWC; once it starts.

But I just wish it had been kept a bit simpler. The Waterfront stadium saga, Feelers songs everywhere, the tupperwaka, Adidas counting down clocks, posters in urinals that actually are quite offensive, turning Ohakune’s carrot into a black dildo etc...

  • Field Theory: Hospital Pass,

The cruise ship thing fascinates me.

Where exactly do you go to hire a cruise ship for a month; especially in peak time in the Mediterranean? They’re not like chemical toilets.

As Sacha said 60k v 30k meant Auckland was the pragmatic option for the Quarters. And increased money from those matches increases the ability to redistribute pool matches around the South Island.

Picking England v Argentina to go to Wellington Regional Stadium (temporarily increased to 39k BTW)

Note; venues not previously allocated games (e.g. Timaru and Queenstown) have been ruled out.

  • Voting Local 2010,

My favourite, possibly apocryphal, Red Ken quote; from the 1980s.

“The day Thatcher is no longer Prime Minister of this country, complete strangers will make love on the underground

  • Busytown: Front, man,

    On the “PC” thing.

Why is it 99% of the time “PC gone mad”?? It does my head in.

  • Busytown: Front, man,

    Just one thing.

Schoolchildren are probably more likely to be watching TV at 0740 during term than in the holidays.

  • Hard News: The Bollard Book,

    @Phil Lyth

I read somewhere that 70% of coins overall never returned.

That's a lot of couches up and down NZ.

  • Hard News: The Bollard Book,

    Another bit of currency trivia.

When all the coins got changed 5 or so years ago, what percentage of coins in circulation got handed/ cashed in?
