OnPoint: MSD's Leaky Servers, in reply to
It takes ages to get through and I phoned around 10am. When I said to her that I had a secure file and was concerned her tone of voice was apathetic. She told me my privacy hadn't been breached to which I replied, "as far as you know". She just repeated that my privacy hadn't been breached and that they had been told that no Work and Income client files were involved.
FYI they give unsubstantiated advice all the time so you end up getting told one thing from the 0800 line, then in the branch you are told the opposite. This happens often and is generally accepted as being just the way it is.

*groan* Figures. 0800 line is always making stuff up and offering it as advice.

Guys guys guys... I think you're looking at this whole thing from completely the wrong perspective. You say it's a huge breach of privacy pertaining to beneficiaries' personal information, I say "what are those bludgers trying to hide?" (you can have that one Paula)
You mean those CYFS kids?

Hey, it's more than what I get from MSD. The thing is that we definately know what types of things Kevin was able to access, but when someone is obsessed with you and knows you have a file with current details held by MSD I can't help but wonder with more time and motivation how can MSD say conclusively that my file hasn't been accessed? They can't.

SECURE FILES - IT can you help?
Hi to any other people with Secure Files & friendly IT peeps.
I've spent the morning going mental. Where the hell is any info on this?
MSD is saying via the 0800 line that no clients have had their privacy breached. This doesn't mean anything because on Friday they would have assured us that no CYFS clients would have had their privacy breached.I would like a hell of a lot more assurance that my file has been untouched than this given the level of risk to my family and myself, and the type of sensitive information in my file.
MSD secure files can "only" be accessed when they are unsecured by a manager, but essentially they are accessible to any MSD staff member, at any location.
Question for the IT savvy: if there were passwords on the computer that Kevin accessed, is it possible that some of these passwords could be used to access a secure file? I ask knowing you probably need more info but your guess is more than I have from MSD right now. Can't contact PC either.... arrrrgg.
