My original hometown & pleased to the Cenotaph whole again. Was back there a month ago and it was looking touch & go that the works to get "George" back on the plinth were not going to be completed in time.

After hearing about tapping and discovering it worked on the payphone outside HB Williams Library in Gisborne, 3 of us embarked on a great weekend riding our bikes all around town and the 'burbs trying it on every payphone. It was simple things that kept energetic but geeky 9 y.o. boys amused in the early 70's eh!

Thanks. I did a bit more digging later (as work allowed) and got the same info. Still interested as to source of the specific comments. There is a 2010 and 2014 “survey” and I imagine that it’s asking a lot of one individual to glean that level of detail on all Judges across the wide range of judicial disciplines. Further some of those comments come across as a bit “legalese” in their constructs.

Speaking of Judges, it would seem J. Chisholm is about as soft as we could have expected to have had appointed to the Collins inquiry. Not sure who is behind this KiwiFirst site that rates Judges but Chisholm is not very highly rated. High Court Justice Lester Chisholm 2010 Judge Survey Score
Some comments: Prone to frequent legal faux pas, not a good judge to have if facing an influential or Crown adversary and fractious history with Solicitor General David Collins and other political heavyweights; experiences which have cumulatively added to Chisholm’s insecurity when it comes to rule without fear or favour. -
Potentially more deeply disconcerting WO and Ministerial collusion in Education sector, if true this is vile and reprehensible behaviour.

But it's not news when same magazine is still sitting in doctors, dentists, physios's & tyre repair waiting rooms etc 3 months later, right in the middle of an election campaign and the AB's are playing AU, SAF etc. That is the calculation made by the message managers in getting that cover at the time they did.
