    ...your demands 50 year plan

My 50 year plan? I would be quite happy with a 5 year plan for now (I'm guessing that is what your second sentance means - it's a bit cryptic), but I'm not going to stick it to councillors who are doing their job by looking out for their city. Should we be shocked that not everyone agrees on what is best? No.

This has been rushed, which means it will most likely be botched. Don't get all 'petulent child' about people who give a damn about their city. That's what "offends" me.

Come on Aucklanders, time to stop behaving like a bunch of petulant school kids.

Aucklanders are right to be resistant to a major change on our waterfront foisted on us seemingly at the last minute by Wellington politicians who seem to have little regard for what Aucklanders actually think (or, at least, didn't bother to find out).

I'm not saying the waterfront option isn't the best, but don't patronise us for discussing all the options or providing different view points that are not based on your particular gung-ho attitude to urban planning.

The real crime here is that these issues were not raised a year ago.

After all isn't the port area owned by the ports? And don't they need that land for running a port?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the land is owned by Ports of Auckland which is owned by the Council?

Too small I could understand, and you'd need to commandeer land from the Domain.

I agree with Ben that a waterfront stadium needs to be special (although not quite that special maybe :D).

I'm a fan of the Carlaw Park option. Anyone know why it's not even being considered? Too many activist rate-payers in the area? Space just not big enough? Maybe it would interfere with a new SE-corridor plan (which, a little bird told me, we should be hearing about in the near future).

But pfffft, whatever. I give up too. You're a persistent bugger, I'll give you that.

You have to admire his willingness to defend the administration, irrespective of mere facts and figures.

*must resist urge to be really sarcastic* :D

I'm no n00b and I stand by my point:

Xtra offers "full speed, no cap". The litmus test for their advertising would be if a user could, in fact, use the service as stated.

  • Hard News: More than a little odd,

...my point is that bottomless P2P users will chow down any and all available network capacity - so why not discriminate against them when network resources are scarce?

Simple: why offer "full speed, always-on" broadband if you are not going to let anyone use it at full spead, all the time?

FYI, Hussein is not an atheist, but you are right that the religious element has been overplayed.

The US government spending and the deficit has ballooned under Bush. The US owes China billions in foreign currency. A lot of traditional conservatives are furious at Bush for betraying his roots in that regard.
