  • Capture: Roamin’ Holiday, in reply to Joe Wylie,

Lockwood Smith is tall and lean. That bull was the size of a truck.

I think that Lockwood is a bit of a nong but he does treat his animals with great care. He breeds Belgian Blue* cattle somewhere up your neck-of-the- woods (north of Helensville).

I liked the alpacas and donkeys best. The cattle was just a mite over-sized.

    * they look more white than blue to me.

David; Thought you might enjoy this piece from this morning’s Waikato Times, as you lift that bale, tote that barge

A large ad for the grand opening of the “Peaches & Cream Adult Megastore”, with a major attraction of a “free sausage sizzle”. Bring your own sausage, presumably.

Still trying to identify the bird that sings from high in our cedar in the morning and often through the day. . It has awoken me at dawn , with a very loud and persistent call..2 or 3 identical, evely spaced notes, followed by a descending coda of another 3 quicker notes.

    Name yourself, bird!

  • Hard News: Staying Alive,

I guess people have seen news of the NZ speaking tour by Roger Geller of the Portland Oregon Cycling Advocacy. He is talking in Hamilton on Friday 17th, 12-1 at the HCC Reception Lounge. I will be there as I off to Portland in a couple of weeks, for a 3 day conference (yikes!).

Cycling Auckland has news of more local events.
