I started by pointing out to my partner how the South Africans were tackling around his arms and helping him lose the ball by tying them up.
Yes, but the problem is also in how they are carrying the ball.
This is why I'm not entirely willing to blame the coaches. Yes there are problems all over the field, and yes, there are huge problems in selections (if Russell doesn't get his Toeava wish for the Wallabies game, I'll eat my hat) but a lot of the problems are basic skills, and should they really have to be coaching that at All Black level?

It was a performance as predictable as it was depressing. Is there anyone left out there who disputes this side has been going backwards for long enough to be classed as officially in decline?
Yes, that game was awful, and yes, this season has mostly been horrible. But the last three games they've lost, (the France game is too long ago for me to remember) they lost against a very, very good side.
Not to defend them overly much, the basic skills were lacking, the line out is a shambles, there are the same problems over and over again, but could we give South Africa their due? They were awesome.

Can I just ask, before anyone gets their bitch on and calls for the coaches to be sacked, that you have one good person to replace them with.
Otherwise, the point, it is moot.

Men can't match women in some sporting events.
Just curious, what sports are these?

The thing I noticed last night, is what a community it is. The athletes, refs, officials, MCs, kids, everyone is there helping out, and chatting and laughing.
Until the whistle blows, clearly.

Eventually? Yes. First Megan has to find me a dress, though, as I am clearly lacking one.
I'm on it. And will take advice from the room as to what we should make Emma wear.
As to reunions, I'm fundamentally nosy. So like to see what people are up to.
And have a great life. So as to be able to rub people's faces in it.

I don't understand though, cos Stuff's Sydney Morning Herald story is quoting an IAAF spokesperson - though possibly completely out of context?
"This is a medical issue and not a doping issue where she was deliberately cheating," an IAAF spokesman, Nick Davies, told the Sydney Morning Herald.

You'd think there would be some simple guidelines which dictate how the All Blacks and provinces relate.
Ah, but you forget the first rule.
1. What the All Blacks want, the All Blacks get.

Yes, in my experience, the Canterbury Rugby Union is incredibly accessible - especially with the Shield. There's a photo of teenage me holding it, and it stayed overnight in my house.
But then, I suppose when you hold it for such long lengths of time, you get a bit complacent with it...

If true, that's insanely damaging; if the corruption's that insitutionalised then it's hard to see how you could regard any results as legitimate.
Well, yeah, but...couldn't that just be trying to play into the conspiracy theory that the NBA does everything it can to make the Lakers win? It turns out that's not quite true, even if refs do have some inherent (if unintentional) biases.
And the league does have some great refs.
