Ian, you're right. Thank you to Helen who managed a by and large sane government process and will be remembered as one of our best PMs.

11.33 I keep thinking John Key’s wife is called Brotown.
LOL! Comedy gold in its own right

8.49 Stephen Franks likes reading Whale Oil blog. Oh dear.
If Wellington Central had known that before, he wouldn't have got nearly as many as he did

Paul
Your mileage may vary but don't mistake activity for progress. I look at her results and the few I can see aren't very clever.
Sorry -
If Clark resigns, it's a by-election as she holds an electorate seat. Only if one of the list MPs goes would Tizard get in (I think). Graeme?

Labour will skip its Lost Generation of people who left in the 80s and ignore former Rogernomes like Goff. It will be Cunliffe or Parker, probably the former.
My thinking also, but I'm not sure if Cunliffe is much more popular.

SO, Goff or Cunliffe for Labour leader, then?
-
I could see Labour calling for a recount or two. Young's got New Plymouth by only 314 from Duynhoven. They''ll wish Pillay as a little closer to Bennet in Waitakere but 901 might be worth a look. And Okeroa is only 684 behind Katene in Te Tai Tonga.
I think Grant Robertson is safe with 1500 (suck on that, Franks) but Cosgrove might be looking nervously at his 518 margin - I'd expect the Nats to have a go at that one, and also Rimutaka where Whiteside trails Hipkins by 625.
But I want to know what Williamson is slipping into the Pakuranga water - a majority of 12, 759 speaks of dirty doings at the crossroads. Hell, he's got a 7K majority over all other candidates combined.

I think I'd prefer Nat to be able to go it alone, than have to be in bed with ACT
