I thought it was eventually not a success, since they were unable to use THE most obvious dramatic device - which really would've given it resonance - because it was based on a true story.

NEWSFLASH TOM: Around here we usually do people the courtesy of presuming they're arguing in good faith.
Apart from all those times that you dismiss someone's argument as being made solely on the basis that they "don't like" the subject of it. :)

In no way could this spending be considered necessary for Mr Carter to function effectively in his ministerial role. A forthcoming Auditor-General's report should signal the end of such largesse.
You know, I'm starting to think the Herald might actually have a politically-motivated double standard here. </sarc>
