And... American computers are so doubleplus good that those inferior Asian units don't stand a chance of corrupting the pure Arian super computers made by Dell and HP.

Unless we can get a lot more clarity on the relationship between the GCSB and the NSA/GCHQ and on the legal restrictions on data obtained from them, John Key’s assertions are basically meaningless. What’s interesting is that, like tax law, purely national laws are becoming increasingly irrelevant as technology advances, and the law is clearly incapable of keeping up with the new surveillance techniques.
That is my take too. When I heard JK waffling on about Norton Anti virus I knew he was talking shit, whether he knew it or not.

A major problem with this proposal is that it doesn’t really ensure any representation for the parents of young children, especially young mothers. These are a group who are particularly poorly represented in the NZ parliament
Let me address this in reverse order.
1. Parents of young children, especially young mothers, would be far too busy, or should be, to be able to dedicate the time needed for them to be affective members of the proposed jury.
2. Practically all laws seem to come with a “Won’t somebody think of the children” clause. So, no, I don’t think mothers with young children are poorly represented, they may not be there but their influence surely is. -

As a 12th hour comment I would like to say what a wonderful Prime Minster we have and with such wonderful children and a wonderful wife and house and what a super job he is doing,

Shearer was the kind of guy that we should be able to have as a Prime Minister. Trouble is that we, as a country, are not ready for someone that can actually relate to those that are in dire straits. Those in dire straits are seen as failures and the problem that prevents us "Getting Ahead". We are so enamoured by the "Successful" JK, the man we all wish we could be, that we even turn on those that would be our own leaders because they don't have the killer instinct of our smiling arseassin.
It is up to the people to make the decision on the day, it is a shame that most of those people seem to be influenced by a wheeler dealer than a party that will, atchully, do something for the country and its people rather than suck up to his mates, like Hollywood and the financial barons that got us into the mess we see around the world today.
I see no point in trying to guess the next leader of the opposition, I hope it will be Steven Joyce but that would take a small miracle, like Peter Dunn or John Banks having any respect for the people of New Zealand. -

I think what JK was trying to say on Campbell was. “They can just record the meta data and store it forever , you know, like the file number or something, and we can only use it in court if we get a warrant. We cant stop the machines looking for patterns and telling us things we are interested in, its quite legal, well it will be when we ram this bill trough.”
But he didn’t want to bore us with such stuff. We are more interested in Red Herrings.eta. Plus the fact he knows nothing about networks, communication protocols or computers.
