  • Island Life: Get over it,

How many people have visited Sydney, and not walked over the harbour bridge?

At least one! But someone did point it out, so I was actually aware they had a bridge.

  • Hard News: Phoning a Friend,

Andrew: you may be confusing me with someone else as I don't remember doing this.

Ooh sorry, I assumed you'd be the same Geoff Lealand who was editor of the Wgtn Film Soc's magazine in the 80s & who was a media studies lecturer at, I think, Massey for a while. Maybe it's my memory at fault :)

  • Hard News: Phoning a Friend,

Since we're on it Geoff, I remember when you were Sequence editor (that bigger format sure made the bound copies look weird).

  • OnPoint: AIA and Maori Seats,

The Maori seats are, in any case, a taonga and not for us whiteys to take away. If Maori want to get rid of them, they will.

Some time ago, a commenter on Kiwiblog whined that since there was a Maori Party, there should be a Rich White Guy Party.

It was pointed out that he & his ilk were free to vote for ACT - but this comment has just convinced me that few want them.

  • Southerly: DVD Review: Learn to Play the…,

Dude, haven't you ever been lying in bed thinking how over-rated Riefenstahl's 'Triumph of the Will' is -- really a very distasteful propaganda flick -- and then started thinking, hey, wouldn't it be cool if someone watched this movie under the impression that it was a guide to learning how to play the volkszither?

Not quite, although if I'd known what a volkszither was you'd be on the money.

  • Radiation: New season,

In a public hospital? I've never seen ONE that I recall....

I'm reliably informed that one does visit patients every few days. I presume there are more of them somewhere too.

  • Radiation: New season,

What astonishes me most about Grey's Anatomy, is that the doctors outnumber the patients!

When's the last time you saw even one doctor in a kiwi hospital?

    Pure science fiction IMO.
